star this property answer text <p>Data on waiting times from consultant-led referral to treatment is published on a monthly basis, and is available at the following link:</p><p><a href="https://www.england.nhs.uk/statistics/statistical-work-areas/rtt-waiting-times/" target="_blank">https://www.england.nhs.uk/statistics/statistical-work-areas/rtt-waiting-times/</a></p><p>The latest published data from May 2024 showed there were:</p><p>- 6,284,066 incomplete pathways over four weeks;</p><p>- 5,118,954 incomplete pathways over eight weeks; and</p><p>- 4,259,438 incomplete pathways over 12 weeks.</p><p><br> Waiting times for consultant-led treatments are measured in pathways, rather than people or patients. Patients may be on more than one incomplete pathway.</p><p>Tackling waiting lists is a key part of our Health Mission. We will start by delivering an extra 40,000 operations, scans, and appointments each week, as the first step in our commitment to ensuring patients can expect to be treated within 18 weeks.</p> more like this

The standard consultation closed in June 2024, with the easy-read consultation on the NHS Constitution closing in July 2024. The Department acknowledges the limits of both publishing a consultation in online-only formats and solely in English.</p><p>The Department published an easy-read version, with the simplified language making the information more accessible for a broader audience, supporting those whose first language is not English to access and respond to the consultation.</p><p>The Department is committed to engagement with the public in the future and continuously improving our approach for future consultations and strategies. If any further review of the NHS Constitution takes place, ensuring communication through an accessible format for people, including those for whom English may not be their first language, will be considered.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The total spend on commissioning specialised services was £22.7 billion in 2022/23 and £25 billion in 2023/24. As formal delegation of specialised services to integrated care boards (ICBs) begins from 1 April 2024, all spend on commissioning these services in previous years has been the responsibility of NHS England, and not the ICBs. For 2024/25, NHS England is delegating £5.3 billion of commissioning resource to ICBs in the three regions, where delegation will begin from April 2024. This figure excludes high-cost drugs and devices spend.</p><p>The nine joint committee arrangements arose from a robust process, which included a readiness assessment, the Pre-Delegation Assessment Framework, made between the ICBs and NHS England regional teams, followed by a National Moderation Panel, and final decision taken by the NHS England Board. There is a comprehensive programme structure in place to support the ICBs in the four regions that are working towards delegation in April 2025, to support them in being ready to take on the responsibilities. NHS England is continuing to work alongside ICBs to ensure that delegation agreements are in place, including ensuring appropriate collaborative arrangements are developed to support ICB commissioning of specialised services. These arrangements will be monitored by NHS England through its assurance processes for specialised services.</p><p>A webinar series for commissioning staff, including colleagues in ICBs, was delivered in 2023 across different aspects of specialised services, and there are additional webinars planned in 2024. There has been, and will continue to be, local engagement between regional commissioning teams and ICB teams, as the future operating model is co-developed. A suite of support materials has been shared with teams and continues to be updated. As examples, these include: Commissioning Change Management Business Rules; Finance and Accounting Standard Operating Procedure; and the Contracting Standard Operating Procedure.</p><p>NHS England develops services specification and clinical policies through its Clinical Reference Groups. There are 250 published service specifications which include clinical pathway, quality, and other relevant standards, which are specific to the clinical service. Regional commissioning teams, overseen by the statutory joint committees, are responsible for implementing the specifications in their commissioning of services, along with assessing compliance against national standards. NHS England has developed Specialised Services Quality Dashboards alongside service specifications, which provide additional data to monitor the quality of services.</p><p><strong> </strong></p>

star this property answer text <p>Our Delivery plan for recovering access to primary care has two central ambitions to improve access to general practice (GP): tackling the 8:00am rush and reducing the number of people struggling to contact their practice; and for patients to know on the day they contact their practice, how their request will be managed.</p><p>We are doing this by modernising telephone systems, backed by £240 million in retargeted funding, and by building the capacity to deliver more appointments. As a result, we have now delivered on our manifesto commitment for 50 million more GP appointments per year, with 370.7 million booked across the last 12 months.</p><p>There is an increasing number of clinical services that are being delivered in community pharmacy, including the New Medicines Service, Contraception Service, Blood Pressure Check Service, Stop Smoking Service, and most recently the new Pharmacy First service. These services help take the pressure off GPs, and make it quicker and easier for patients to access care.</p><p>Furthermore, our plan to recover and reform NHS dentistry will fund approximately 2.5 million additional appointments. The plan sets out our actions to address the challenges facing National Health Service dentistry, and to improve dental access for patients across the country. A new patient premium is supporting dentists to take on new patients, and a new marketing campaign will help everyone who needs an NHS dentist in finding one. We have further supported dentists by raising the minimum Units of Dental Activity rate to £28 this year, making NHS work more attractive and sustainable.</p>

star this property answer text <p>NHS England does not hold the information requested. Serious Incidents are reported to the Strategic Executive Information System (StEIS). Compliance with the 60-day closure of serious incident investigations is not routinely monitored by NHS England. As such, a bespoke analysis and report would be needed to provide the requested information.</p><p> </p><p>The expectation set by the Serious Incident Framework is that Serious Incident investigation reports are to be completed within 60 working days where possible. This is overseen by commissioners, who complete necessary processes to close these incidents on StEIS, and reviewed by the Care Quality Commission as part of their regulatory role. NHS England does not hold or report on this data for England.</p><p> </p><p>In relation to Yorkshire and York, information relating to serious incidents will be held by providers and the relevant integrated care board.</p> more like this
