Blanket bans that do not take account of the individual and their circumstances are unhelpful and should be discouraged.</p><p>Last year, I met industry representatives including property advertising platforms, to determine what action can be taken to end this practice. Total welfare spending in 2019/20 was £225bn.</p><p>Our current focus is on supporting people financially during these unprecedented times.
