unstar this property answer text <p>Britain is the largest bilateral donor to Sierra Leone and our support has been consistent over this Parliament. We spent £51 million in 2010/11, rising to £68 million in 2013/14. This compares to £44 million in 2009/10. In response to the recent Ebola outbreak the UK is leading the international response and has rapidly scaled up its support for Sierra Leone, committing £125m to contain, control and defeat the disease. This includes a £20 million package of support to improve public services in Sierra Leone.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>In 2012, the UK’s share of multilateral spend through the European Development Fund, World Bank, African Development Bank, and GAVI was £18.2 million for Sierra Leone and £14.9 million for Liberia.</p><p> </p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p> </p><p>The Offering Memorandum sent by the Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI) Government for a bond issue guaranteed by DFID in 2011 is not a document owned by her Majesty’s Government. It would therefore not have been appropriate for DFID to place a copy of it in the Library of the House, although my previous answer did make clear that the Noble Lord could obtain a copy of the document by requesting it from the TCI Government.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Freedom of Information requests cover documents held by Her Majesty’s Government. DFID therefore sought the consent of the TCI Government before agreeing to release the TCI document.</p><p> </p> more like this

unstar this property answer text <p>The UK Government agrees that it is unacceptable that people in need in Syria continue to be denied life-saving aid, and condemns the siege and starvation tactics being practised by the Syrian regime and other armed groups. The UK government agrees that the international community must work to ensure Syrians get the aid they need by the most direct routes possible, including through sustained delivery across conflict lines and borders.</p><p>Since the start of the Syria crisis, the UK has provided £76 million to agencies working cross-border to provide medical help, food and other aid to hundreds of thousands of people in desperate need inside Syria.</p><p> </p> more like this
