Once the design has been proven it is currently planned that the Challenger 3 tanks will be delivered to the Army from 2027, with Full Operating Capability delivered by 2030. star this property answer text <p>For the Batch 1 Type 26 frigates, almost 50 per cent by value of the steel is UK sourced. <del class="ministerial">Steel has not yet been purchased for the Batch 2 ships</del>. <ins class="ministerial">Approximately 994 tonnes of steel was purchased for the first Batch 2 ship, HMS Birmingham, in 2022 and 25 per cent of this steel was produced in the UK.</ins></p><p> </p><p>Steel for the Type 31 frigates is sourced by Babcock from UK-based stockists. Both the Type 26 and Type 31 classes require the use of thin plate steel and this specification of steel with the required combination of thickness, size and flatness is not manufactured in the UK.</p><p> </p><p>Steel for our major defence programmes is generally sourced by our prime contractors from a range of UK and international suppliers and is procured in accordance with Cabinet Office guidelines. We encourage the sourcing of UK steel wherever it is technically and commercially feasible.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Department is responsible for delivering a huge range of complex programmes and ambitious modernisation plans ensuring our Armed Forces have the very best resources to meet future threats.</p><p> </p><p>Aided by our £24 billion spending settlement, the Department remains committed to delivering value for money through new streamlined processes and developing our industry contracts with a focus on delivery. This will be grounded by the Integrated Review, Defence Command Paper and Defence Security and Industrial Strategy.</p><p> </p><p>As would be expected of any responsible organisation, MOD regularly reviews our programmes and assets to determine how best to meet future threats including taking appropriate action to address changes. This helps avoid future support and maintenance costs on programmes and assets that are now less relevant or no longer required which can then be re-invested in other programmes.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Future Defence Infrastructure Services (FDIS) accommodation contracts came into service on 1 April 2022. The contracts comprise one National Accommodation Management Services (NAMS) contract, held by Pinnacle, and four Regional Accommodation Maintenance Services (RAMS) contracts held by Amey and VIVO.</p><p>As is standard practice for major Government contracts, four Gold Key Performance Indicators (KPI)s selected in accordance with Cabinet Office criteria, will be published in 2023 for each of the FDIS Accommodation contracts. For the NAMS, these are Application Completions, Allocation satisfaction including Move-in and Move-out satisfaction, Resolution of Stage 1 complaints and social value.
