Whereas the table in answer to Question 139145 gave a breakdown and not a grand total. In addition to the 2,389 prosecutors in that table are Crown Advocates; Associate Prosecutors; and qualified and experienced prosecutors in corporate roles such as legal trainers. Further, as stated in answer to Question 163750, consequential changes to data input may mean that the data will change at some point in the future.</p></td></tr></tbody></table> more like this

During this period the CPS has undertaken continuous improvement and modernisation programmes to improve efficiency and effectiveness. These included digitalisation, development of a national resourcing model, standard operating practices, resource efficiency measures, smarter/remote working practices, and establishment of remote teams. unstar this property answer text <p>With the introduction of the Transforming Summary Justice (TSJ) initiative in May 2015, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) moved to full case ownership with individual lawyers being responsible for each contested case in the magistrates’ court until its conclusion. During the same period, the volume of police charged cases and referrals for pre-charge decisions has declined.
