	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 18/07/2018 answer text <p>The draft National Planning Policy Framework set out that local authorities should, as a minimum, provide for objectively assessed needs for housing and other development in plans. These plans would be tested by an independent Planning Inspector at the plan examination.</p><p>The council will also need to ensure there is sufficient infrastructure available to accommodate proposals bought forward in their plan, this will also be tested at examination to determine whether the plan is effective and can be delivered.</p><p>The consultation on the draft revised National Planning Policy Framework closed on the 10 May and we are considering the comments received. This will deliver the manifesto commitment to extend the benefits of Right to Buy to 1.3 million tenants. Under the terms of the agreement housing associations will deliver an additional home through new supply nationally for every home sold – increasing overall housing supply.</p><p>Under the reinvigorated Right to Buy we are firmly committed to making sure that for every additional home sold an additional one will be provided. There is a rolling 3 year deadline for local authorities to deliver additional affordable homes through new build or acquisition under the reinvigorated Right to Buy, and so far they have delivered well within sales profile.
