<p>During the last five years, the Department has co-funded, with Defra, the Met Office
Hadley Centre Climate Programme, which delivers scientific evidence on climate variability
and change. The effect of carbon dioxide on temperature and climate change is one
of the many research topics covered by the programme. More information can be found

target="_blank">http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/publicsector/climate-programme</a>.</p><p>In
addition, the Department has, since 2009, financially supported two separate phases
of the AVOID Research Programme (2009-2013 and 2014-2016), both of which have involved
rigorous examination of the effect of carbon dioxide on temperature and climate change.
