star this property answer text <p>The announcement at Budget on 16 March 2016 of £730M for the three ‘Pot 2’ (less established technologies) auctions this Parliament demonstrates this Government’s firm commitment to supporting renewable deployment.</p><p> </p><p>The Budget 2016 also reconfirmed plans to run the first Contracts for Difference (CfD) auction this Parliament at the end of the year – with a budget of £290M – enough to support around 1GW of new deployment from 2021/21.</p><p> </p><p>We are currently finalising plans and priorities for the 2016 round and plan to announce further details in relation to the next round, including technology eligibility, later this Spring.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Government has announced up to £730 million of CFD support for offshore wind and other less established technologies. The first auction which we intend to hold later this year will offer £290 million of support and we would expect developers of Scottish projects to bid into that auction.</p><p> </p><p>This is a huge opportunity, so I have been encouraging developers and supply chain companies to make the industrialisation of the UK supply chain happen.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>In July 2014 the Government announced a 100MW minimum for wave and tidal stream technologies, including capacity from both the Renewables Obligation and Contracts for Difference, to the end of the first Delivery Plan period in 2019.</p><p> </p><p>During the Budget on 16 March 2016, the Government announced the budget for CfD auctions this Parliament and that the Contract for Difference allocation round, planned to open later in 2016 will be available for projects with a Target Commissioning Window starting in the 2021/22 delivery year. We will be publishing further details in relation to the next allocation round, including on strike prices and whether there will be any minimum allocation later for wave and tidal stream technologies in due course.</p><p> </p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The fuel poverty energy efficiency rating used to measure progress towards the fuel poverty target in 2030 and interim milestones in 2020 and 2025 includes the contribution of the Warm Home Discount scheme towards that target as, whilst it is an energy bill rebate rather than an energy efficiency measure, this has a significant impact on the ability of a household to keep warm. We are currently consulting on the 2016/17 scheme and will be publishing our proposals for the design of the future Warm Home Discount scheme (from 2017 onwards) for consultation later this year.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The number of F and G-rated fuel poor households [1] in England that will be in receipt of Warm Home Discount to 2020 will depend on changes in the energy efficiency of the housing stock and reforms to the welfare system over time.</p><p> </p><p>Based on current scheme eligibility, we estimate that around 25% of F and G-rated fuel poor households in England are eligible for Warm Home Discount.</p><p> </p><p>The Warm Home Discount has an important role in supporting households with their energy bills but is not the primary way we are addressing fuel poverty in the long term. We are reforming the Energy Company Obligation to improve the energy efficiency of homes that need it most, tackling the root cause of fuel poverty.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p><em><strong>[1]</strong></em><em> As measured by the Fuel Poverty Energy Efficiency Rating.
