Information is available for individuals whose relationship status had been assessed by that date on the Offender Assessment System, which accounts for 2,678 women and 62,830 men.</p><p> </p><p>i) From these totals 4,258 male prisoners were identified as having ever been the victim of domestic violence. This equates to 7% of male prisoners.</p><p> </p><p>ii) From these totals, 22% of female prisoners were identified as having ever been the perpetrator of domestic violence. This is 597 female perpetrators.</p><p> </p><p>Figures for the extent of Offender Assessment System coverage exclude “layer 1” assessments, which do not include questions on domestic violence.
