unstar this property answer text <p>The Victim and Witness Budget, which is used to fund support service for victims and witnesses, is set each year and includes a forecasted contribution from revenue raised through the Victim Surcharge. Between 2015/16 and 2018/19 the revenue raised from the Surcharge surpassed the forecasted contribution, so the excess was put towards compensating victims of violent crime through the Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme. unstar this property answer text <p>The attached table shows the number of people released on Home Detention Curfew (HDC), in each year since 2007 by offence group. It is not possible to provide a breakdown under each of the headings requested for the data relating to 2007-14, due to the way it was recorded.</p><p> </p><p>HDC is a robust scheme which allows suitable, risk assessed, prisoners to work towards rehabilitation in the community, while remaining subject to strict monitoring and other conditions. If they breach these, they can be returned to custody.</p> more like this
