	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/06/2019 answer text <p>Data from the independent Office for National Statistics (ONS) shows that in 2018 75,000 people in the West Midlands are employed on zero hours’ contracts – representing just 2.7% of people employed in the West Midlands.</p><p> </p><p>In the UK in 2018 the ONS estimate that 844,000 people were employed on zero hours’ contracts – 2.6% of all people employed.</p><p> </p><p>A record number of people (32.7 million) in the UK are employed. Since 2010 nearly 80% of the growth in employment has been in full-time work and over 75% has come from permanent employment’. Healthcare Professionals undertaking work capability assessments are equipped to identify the impact of these conditions as part of the existing assessment process.</p><p>All Healthcare Professionals carrying out work capability assessments are medically qualified and highly-trained practitioners in their own field. They are subject to a rigorous recruitment process followed by a comprehensive training programme in disability assessment. The assessment is not a medical assessment requiring the Healthcare Professional to diagnose a condition and recommend treatment options. The focus is on ensuring Healthcare Professionals are experts in disability analysis, drawing on evidence supplied by the individual and their GP or specialist clinical team, with knowledge of the likely functional effects of a wide range of health conditions.</p><p>While preparing to undertake an assessment, Healthcare Professionals can access a wide range of clinical resources to research any conditions presented. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 26/04/2018 answer text <p>I have interpreted the reference to fitness for work assessments as relating to Work Capability Assessments.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>Every person who attends a Work Capability Assessment can ask to have their face-to-face assessment audio recorded and all requests will be accommodated where possible. Recording equipment will be provided by the supplier or alternatively claimants can use their own equipment provided they meet certain conditions required by DWP. A three year average (2015/16, 2014/15 and 2013/14) is used to support the small sample size at a regional level. The number in receipt of tax credits are not available at local authority or constituency level in this publication because the survey sample sizes are too small to support the production of robust estimates at this geography.</p><p> </p><p>In the FRS tax credit receipt is based on self-assessment and therefore may be subject to misreporting, and the FRS is known to undercount receipt of certain benefits. Therefore the numbers in the table have been produced by applying the proportion in each decile from HBAI to the overall number of families in receipt of child tax credit, working tax credit and both child tax credit and working tax credit, from administrative data. Numbers of individuals have been rounded to the nearest thousand individuals.
