<p>The aviation noise-related discussions during the meeting between the Aviation
Minister and the Chief Executive of London City Airport on 11 June focused on the
level of noise complaints and the airport’s sound insulation scheme.</p><p>Through
the Aviation 2050 green paper, the Government has been consulting on proposals as
to how sustainable growth should be defined in terms of aviation noise, including
a requirement for all major airports to set out a plan which commits to future noise
reduction. The consultation period on the green paper closed on 20 June. We will use
the responses and feedback gathered during consultation to finalise the Government’s
future vision for aviation, with the final white paper due to be published at the
end of this year.</p>
