	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 29/10/2020 answer text <p>The Government and the rail industry revised the train timetable to ensure passengers received a regular and reliable service throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. We took early action to stabilise the industry, which enabled the continued operation of critical passenger and freight services. From 7 September, the railway has been operating at 91 per cent of its pre-pandemic capacity, providing frequent and reliable trains for passengers. Rail operators continue to assess local demand regularly and deliver the services passengers need. When trains are regularly cancelled this can disrupt people’s lives, communities and the economy.</p><p> </p><p>The Department does not hold information on the cost to the economy of the current poor performance on parts of the rail network.
