answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/09/2015 answer text <p>Large investment funds effectively comprise the investments of individuals, whether via their pension funds, insurance contracts, or other savings and investment products. The decision to invest in companies’ shares directly, or indirectly through a fund, is a matter for individual investors.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The Government has taken a variety of steps to encourage individual saving, and retail investment in shares in particular. For example, we have:</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>- Reduced the starting rate of income tax for savings;</p><p> </p><p>- Increased the maximum annual amount which can be invested in an Individual Savings Account (ISA) to £15,240 in the 2015-16 tax year, and provided savers with greater flexibility to withdraw their money and put it back in to an ISA within the same year, without losing their tax benefits;</p><p> </p><p>- Introduced, from April 2016, a new tax-free Personal Savings Allowance of £1,000 (or £500 for higher rate taxpayers) of interest earned on savings (taking 95 per cent of taxpayers out of savings tax altogether) as well as a new £5,000 tax-free dividend allowance for all taxpayers;</p><p> </p><p>- Allowed shares from growth markets such as the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) to be held in ISAs - making investment in the growth markets easier;</p><p> </p><p>- Abolished stamp duty on AIM shares, attracting further investment into growing companies and reducing the cost of raising capital for those companies.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p> answering member constituency Grantham and Stamford answering member printed Nick Boles question first answered 17/09/2015 10:09:22 answering member 3995 label Biography information for Nick Boles

It will be set at £7.20 per hour, and the Low Pay Commission will advise on the increases each year towards the ambition that it reaches 60% of median earnings by 2020.</p><br /><p>The Office of Budget Responsibility estimates that by 2020 it will benefit 2.7 million workers directly and up to a total of 6 million workers could see a pay rise as a result of a ripple effect up the earnings distribution. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/11/2015 answer text <p>We are committed to 3 million apprenticeship starts in England and will ensure they deliver the skills employers and the economy need for growth.</p><br /><p>The locations and sectors where apprenticeships are available are determined by employers choosing to offer opportunities – so our aim is to create the conditions for employers to offer more apprenticeships. So that the public sector plays a full part in delivering more apprenticeships, we are taking forward legislation on targets for public bodies in relation to apprenticeships in England.</p><br /><p>Through the Welfare Reform and Work Bill we are legislating to report annually on progress towards meeting the 3 million. This duty will be a clear statement to reconfirm Government’s commitment to that policy ambition, as well as ensuring transparency on progress.</p><br /><p>Apprenticeships policy is a devolved matter and it is for the devolved administrations of Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales to determine how they manage their own programmes. This is the case regardless of the availability of devices that can reduce vehicle mileage. In agriculture this is led by the Agri-Skills Forum, comprising bodies such as Lantra, Landex, National Farmers Union, and the Agricultural and Horticultural Development Board, which takes a UK wide perspective of skills needs in agriculture and horticulture, and provides a direct link to employers. UK Trade and Investment will be leading a whole of government approach to engage with UK companies to ensure that UK businesses are well equipped to benefit from the commercial opportunities that will arise from sanction relief.</p><br /><p>There is a desire on both sides to build a long-term bilateral relationship based on future partnership, where trade and investment is a key pillar. In addition, £37 million was invested on space with the Met Office.
