This includes significant private sector investment. The government’s investments in LEP areas over the last five years have included £2 billion Local Growth Fund, £730 million Growing Places Fund, £440 million Regional Growth Fund, £120 million in Enterprise Zones, and £90.7 million Coastal Communities Fund.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The government does not collect information about all investments secured by LEPs. In the event that a tour operator cancels a package the consumer is entitled to a full refund or to take a substitute package of the same or higher quality, if offered. If the consumer is offered a replacement of lower quality the consumer is entitled to receive a refund of the difference in price. It is the consumer’s choice as to whether to accept a replacement or a full refund.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Tour operators have a general duty of care towards their customers and the Regulations also make them liable for contractual failure in respect of any of the services being provided as part of a package. I understand that the industry is reacting to the situation in Tunisia responsibly. Holidays have been cancelled in the shorter term, and refunds and alternatives offered.
