answer text <p>HM Government is satisfied that decisions on licence applications to Turkey can be taken, by following a careful assessment against the Strategic Export Licensing Criteria on a case-by-case basis.</p><p> </p><p>The Criteria provide a thorough risk assessment framework and take into account a full range of factors such as our international obligations, including the Arms Trade Treaty.</p><p> </p><p>These are not decisions we take lightly. We will not issue any export licences where to do so would be inconsistent with the Criteria.</p> more like this

answer text <p>Licences for arms exports continue to be issued to Turkey, but only where they are consistent with the <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/speeches/turkey-military-action-in-syria-urgent-question-opening-statement" target="_blank">Oral Statement to Parliament</a> on 15<sup>th</sup> October 2019 made by my right hon. Friend the then Foreign Secretary, which clarifies that no export licences are currently being issued to Turkey for items that might be used in military operations in Syria.</p><p> </p><p>All export licence applications are assessed on a case-by-case basis against the Consolidated EU and National Arms Export Licensing Criteria, taking into account all Relevant factors at the time of the application, including how the goods will be used.</p><p> </p><p>HM Government publishes official statistics (on a quarterly and annual basis) about export licences on GOV.UK including detailed information on the type of export licences issued, refused or revoked, by destination, type (e.g. military, other) and a summary of the items covered by these licences.</p>

answer text <p>The Consolidated EU and National Arms Export Licensing Criteria, last updated in a Written Ministerial Statement on 25<sup>th</sup> March 2014, remains the policy for assessing all licence applications.</p><p> </p><p>We continue to monitor developments in the region closely and will uphold our robust export control regime; an export licence would not be granted if it was inconsistent with any of the Criteria. This includes Criterion 1, which ensures Britain meets her international obligations and commitments, such as the arms embargos on Armenia and Azerbaijan established by the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>All export licences are issued in strict accordance with the Consolidated EU and National Arms Export Licensing Criteria.</p><p> </p><p>The Government publishes Official Statistics (on a quarterly and annual basis) about export licences granted, refused and revoked on GOV.UK. These reports contain detailed information on export licences issued, refused or revoked, by destination, including the overall value, type (e.g. Military, Other) and a summary of the items covered by these licences. These can be found at: <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/strategic-export-controls-licensing-data." target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/strategic-export-controls-licensing-data.</a></p><p>The data currently provides details of licences up to 30 September 2018.
