star this property answer text <p>The latest figures reported by the ONS show that:</p><p>1: The value of UK exports of goods and services to countries outside the EU was £86.6bn and £86.1bn in Q1 2018 and Q2 of 2018 respectively. There has been an increase of 3.7% in UK exports to non-EU countries in the year to June 2018, compared to the previous 12 months.</p><p>The 3.7% growth in non-EU exports in the year to June 2018 was driven mainly by goods, which increased by £7.0bn (4.2%) over this period. Services exports also increased by £5.4bn (3.3%) in the year to June 2018.</p><p> </p><p>2: The value of UK imports of goods and services from EU countries was £86.4bn and £88.9bn in Q1 2018 and Q2 of 2018 respectively. There has been an increase of 4.9% in UK imports from the EU in the year to June 2018, compared to the previous 12 months.</p><p>The 4.9% growth in imports from the EU in the year to June 2018 was driven mainly by goods, which increased by £12.3bn (4.9%) over this period. Services imports to the EU also increased by £4.0bn (5.0%) in the year to June 2018.</p>

star this property answer text <p>The UK has lodged its independent schedules at the World Trade Organisation (WTO), on which it would be able to trade in the event of a no deal.</p><p>As a responsible government, we will continue to plan for all scenarios including the possibility of the UK leaving the EU without an agreement. By necessity, this means trading on WTO terms, including paying the tariffs levied by WTO members on imports to their markets where there is no preferential agreement.</p><p>The UK will be able to decide its own tariff policy when we leave the EU. The Government is looking at a spectrum of options and is carefully considering the evidence available before making a final decision in the interests of industry and consumers.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>A UK/US Kosovo Trade and Investment Forum was held in London on November 3<sup>rd </sup>2016 and trade cooperation has steadily grown in line with Kosovo’s economy. We look forward to increasing cooperation with the newly formed government, and hope to rearrange the postponed trade mission to Kosovo as a follow-up to the Forum.</p><p>In September 2017 a Trade Envoy to Georgia was appointed. In October the UK-Georgia ‘Wardrop Dialogue’ was held in London, attended by a Georgian Ministerial delegation, where the development of trade relations was discussed. My Rt hon Friend the Minister of State for Trade Policy (Greg Hands) met the Deputy Prime Minister of Georgia as part of this.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Department for International Trade’s Ministerial team and officials have engaged widely with business and civil society on our future UK trade policy since the referendum.</p><p>My Rt Hon Friend the Secretary of State for International Trade hosted seminars with stakeholders and in October 2017 held a roundtable with representatives from trade associations including the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) and Engineering Employers’ Federation (EEF). Officials have also organised townhall meetings, roundtable discussions and held bilateral meetings with business and civil society representatives.</p><p>This department will continue to engage with stakeholders from across the whole of the UK as we develop our policy on future trade relations.</p> more like this

We are also using instruments like Joint Trade Reviews, a collaborative in-depth analysis into the mutual trading relationship between the UK and a partner country; to look for areas we can improve our bilateral trading relationships.</p><p>We will aim through these discussions to put in place various mechanisms to improve trading relations and remove barriers affecting UK businesses.</p> more like this
