We are developing a method to measure and manage carbon emissions from all our Scope 3 supply chain activities, including those from our food suppliers.</p><p>(b) The amount of food waste collected from the Parliamentary Estate is not broken down between the two Houses, so it is not possible to provide a carbon emission figure for food waste from Commons outlets only. However, in the 12 months to the end of October 2020, the House authorities have calculated a total of the equivalent of 1.8 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions from the process for anaerobic digestion of the food waste from the Estate. This figure has been calculated using UK Government GHG Conversion Factors for Company Reporting. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/09/2022 answer text <p>(a) Where possible Parliament follows Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) guidelines for temperature standards in offices to ensure a comfortable working environment. When rooms have temperature controls for the user, there is a small threshold of which temperature can be raised or lowered to ensure rooms are not over cooled/heated.</p><p>There are many differing levels of temperature control across the parliamentary estate, with some areas having no temperature control at all.</p><p>We review the setpoints for heating and cooling regularly.</p><p>(b) Parliamentary authorities take energy efficiency very seriously as part of its commitment to reducing its environmental impacts. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 08/11/2021 answer text <p>114 cases with links to the Parliamentary estate have been reported between the 4th October – 5th November.</p><p>The Parliamentary test and trace team, in partnership with the UKHSA, including the North West London Health protection team highlighted an increase in cases from the week commencing 18th October and recommended that there was a need for additional measures on Tuesday 26th October and Monday 1st November. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/12/2020 answer text <p>A lift is being installed in the Elizabeth Tower as part of the Elizabeth Tower refurbishment project. The majority of the lift infrastructure has now been installed and is currently being tested and commissioned by the contractor.</p><p>At present there is only a single spiral staircase with 334 steps. The lift is being installed into an existing ventilation shaft to improve safety and to help reduce the time it would take to evacuate a person from the Tower in the event of a medical emergency. The lift will also improve both security and access to the Great Clock for maintenance purposes.</p><p>The maximum size of the lift is constrained by the Tower’s original design. The restricted dimensions of the ventilation shaft mean that it is not possible to install a lift that is fully compliant with the relevant legislation. In the New Year teams from across the House will be evaluating how to improve disabled access to the Elizabeth Tower. This work will include exploring how visitors with different access requirements can find out more about the Elizabeth Tower and learn about its history. The sanction will depend on the nature of the behaviour that has been found to have taken place and can include:</p><ul><li>Letter of apology to the complainant</li></ul><ul><li>Appropriate training e.g. dignity in the workplace</li></ul><ul><li>A behaviour agreement</li></ul><ul><li>A referral by the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards to the Committee on Standards where a stronger sanction is warranted, up to and including a recommendation that a Member be suspended or expelled from the House.</li></ul><p /><p>Further possible sanctions, including withdrawal of services (e.g. catering or library services), or a ban on select committee membership or participation in overseas travel on parliamentary business, are being considered as part of the Committee on Standards’ current inquiry into sanctions.
