star this property answer text <p>Flu immunisation information, including campaign materials and patient leaflets, have been produced for the use of the National Health Service, local authorities, voluntary organisations and others in contact with those who are eligible for flu immunisation this winter.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>A flu immunisation advertising campaign was launched on 6 October with the aim of encouraging those most at risk of the effects of flu to take up the offer of flu immunisation. The campaign targets those aged under 65 who have long-term health conditions, including pregnant women who are at risk of complications. It also targets the parents or carers of healthy children aged two to four years, who are also being offered immunisation. Advertising is running nationally on radio and in print media, supported by digital search, social media and public relations activity. The campaign has been extended to run until the end of November.</p><p> </p><p>The Chief Medical Officer has also written to voluntary organisations and charities whose members are in at-risk groups, to request their help in encouraging their members to be vaccinated against flu, and campaign resources have been provided to these organisations.</p><p> </p>

From time to time, trusts do need to implement new systems and temporarily suspend submissions of data for technical reasons. star this property answer text <p>There are eight cancer waiting time targets, which are set out below.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>- at least 93% of patients to be seen by a specialist within two weeks of an urgent general practitioner referral for suspected cancer;</p><p> </p><p>- at least 96% of patients to begin first definitive treatment within 31 days of diagnosis for all cancers;</p><p> </p><p>- at least 85% of patients to begin first treatment within 62 days of urgent referral for suspected cancer for all cancers;</p><p> </p><p>- at least 93% of people urgently referred for breast symptoms (where cancer was not initially suspected) to be seen within two weeks of referral;</p><p> </p><p>- at least 98% of patients to be treated within 31 days where the subsequent treatment was an anti-cancer drug regime;</p><p> </p><p>- at least 94% of patients to be treated within 31 days where the subsequent treatment was surgery;</p><p> </p><p>- at least 94% of patients to be treated within 31 days where the subsequent treatment was radiotherapy; and</p><p> </p><p>- at least 90% of patients to begin first treatment for cancer within 62 days of referral from a National Health Service cancer screening service, for all cancers.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>During this Parliament, urgent cancer referrals are up by 51% as we treat more patients than ever, and cancer survival rates that were amongst the worst in Western Europe have risen to record levels.</p><p> </p>

star this property answer text <p>Type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes are very different diseases, and the causes of type 1 remain unclear. Obesity is a major risk factor for type 2 diabetes.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>We have set national ambition for a downward trend in excess weight in children by 2020 and in recent years have seen obesity rates in children levelling off.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>We have a well-developed and wide-ranging programme of actions to tackle child obesity. These include working with a wide range of partners including Public Health England and NHS England. Key initiatives include Change4Life, the National Child Measurement Programme, Change4Life Sports Clubs, School Sports Funding and the School Food Plan.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Through our voluntary approach with the food and drink industry, we have cut billions of calories from soft drinks and we have made it easier to see how much sugar is in soft drinks with our colour coded front of pack nutrition labelling.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
