star this property answer text <p>The eight specialist mesh services, currently in operation, have been commissioned to treat women who have experienced complications due to vaginal or abdominal mesh procedures for urinary incontinence or prolapse, including removal of mesh.</p><p>NHS England and NHS Improvement are considering the commissioning of care and support for people with complications in the use of mesh inserted for colorectal indications, known as rectopexy mesh. This work includes exploring whether the remit of the existing specialist mesh services can be expanded. NHS England and NHS Improvement expect to make a decision by the autumn.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>There are no plans to investigate the link between the properties of polypropylene mesh and foreign body reaction, fibromyalgia and autoimmune disorders.</p><p>The Department has commissioned NHS Digital to undertake a retrospective audit of complications from pelvic mesh from a defined cohort of women. This was announced in the Government’s response to the Independent Medicines and Medical Devices Review.</p><p>Planning is at an early stage and the requirements for this audit are currently being gathered from a range of stakeholders and patient representatives.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>In August 2022, dementia diagnosis rate in North Staffordshire was 69.4%, which exceeds the mental health constitutional target of 66.7% and the national diagnostic rate. This is monitored through the monthly assurance cycle, in partnership between Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care Board and NHS England. The North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust reports that 100% of its staff felt the hub model increased their knowledge and skills. Allowing trained senior nursing staff to deliver diagnoses has also improved continuity of care.</p> more like this

In addition, the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care System has a dedicated early supportive discharge and integrated community stroke service, which ensures that stroke survivors from north Staffordshire have on average a shorter length of stay in hospital than elsewhere in the county.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Maternity and neonatal services in North Staffordshire are provided at two sites by University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust at the County Hospital in Stafford and The Royal Stoke University Hospital. Maternity services at the County Hospital and the Royal Stoke University Hospital were last inspected by the Care Quality Commission in 2019 and rated as good overall, with the safe domain rated as requires improvement.</p><p>Whilst there are no plans currently in place to make a further assessment of the effectiveness of maternity and neonatal services in North Staffordshire, I would be happy to meet the hon. star this property answer text <p>The National Health Service will be given all the resources it needs to respond to this virus and keep the public safe.</p><p>The NHS is scaling up intensive care beds, whilst NHS England is looking at NHS organisations’ critical care capacity - including the availability of additional facilities operated by independent sector providers. They are also making sure that they have as much ventilation equipment as possible and, crucially, the skilled and trained people to use it.</p><p>The Health and Wellbeing Framework sets out the standards for what NHS organisations need to do to support staff to feel well, healthy and happy at work. It sets out clear actionable steps and provides guidance for organisations to develop and deliver a staff health and wellbeing plan. star this property answer text <p>There are around 11,500 community pharmacies in England, and deliveries of personal protective equipment (PPE) packs were made in March. Further, supplies of PPE have been distributed to wholesalers and distributor networks supplying community pharmacies.</p><p>Where there remains an urgent need for additional PPE stock, community pharmacies should contact their Local Resilience Forums (LRFs) who can provide supplies to respond to local spikes in need. For those who are critically short of PPE, they should phone the National Supply Distribution Response for an urgent delivery. We will continue to work in ensuring that community pharmacies have access to PPE.</p><p>Symptomatic pharmacy staff, or symptomatic member(s) of their household, are eligible for testing through the self-referral online portal where they are able to order home delivery testing kits.
