star this property answer text <p>We are working with partners across Government to ensure offenders receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time.</p><p> </p><p>The National Health Service is leading on work to divert people away from the prison system and into community care, and, through its NHS Long Term Plan, it is committed to all people receiving a physical and mental health screen on entry to prison and a follow up appointment within seven days or sooner. The NHS England revised mental health and substance misuse service specifications in 2017 introduced a trauma-informed approach to care which is also reflected in the revised health and justice primary care specification due to be published in the spring. New guidance on the transfer and remission of adult prisoners to mental health hospitals is expected shortly to further support people with serious mental ill health.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Department does not record this information as part of the information collected through COVID-19 testing programmes.</p><p>Increased testing capacity means that we will now be able to extend regular testing to asymptomatic staff, guided by Public Health England and clinical advice. This approach has been piloted in a number of acute, community and mental health providers and will inform the further roll out of this policy. This pilot should help our understanding of in hospital and nosocomial transmission, with the aim of limiting it where possible.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>All organisations that we work with are experts in undertaking call handling and have standard quality assurance processes that help drive continuous improvement from the point we go live.</p><p>A training package has been put together by experts in health protection and field epidemiology. Staff who join as call handlers’ for Tier 3 and ‘clinical staff’ for Tiers 1 and 2 are required to complete Level 2 adult and child safe-guarding training. The training undertaken addresses both adult and child safeguarding training and identify when concerns should be escalated. Policies are in place to ensure contact tracers know how to escalate concerns.</p><p>Where contact tracers identify potential child abuse and neglect, they escalate these cases straight away to a specialist team for review and onward referral to the appropriate authorities.</p><p> </p> more like this
