Oral tobacco, or snus, is banned in the United Kingdom under the Tobacco and Related Products Regulations 2016.</p><p>There is limited data on the health risks posed to smokers who switch to snus products. Evidence submitted on snus to the United States Food and Drug Administration states that there are still health risks involved with the use of snus. Although snus products contain significantly lower levels of harmful carcinogens than other smokeless tobacco products, the products contain nitrosamines, including NNN and NNK, which have been demonstrated to cause cancer, including cancers of the mouth. A copy of this evidence, <em>Modified Risk Tobacco Product (MRTP) ApplicationTechnical Project Lead (TPL) Review</em>, is attached.</p><p><em>Health risks of Scandinavian snus consumption (English summary)</em> from Norway shows that tobacco products such as oral tobacco contains carcinogenic substances which are associated with a number of adverse health effects. This is regardless of whether the individual is a smoker or not. The National Health Service is also ensuring that patients can access specialist care through dermatology outpatient services. This focuses on a personalised approach for patients waiting for outpatient appointments, improving waiting times and offering choice for patients at the point of referral. Pharmacies can offer clinical advice and over-the-counter medicines for many skin conditions and where appropriate pharmacists can advise the patient to consult a general practitioner (GP), nurse or other healthcare professional.</p><p> </p><p>Many dermatology departments in England now offer a rapid access Teledermatology Advice and Guidance service for GPs to seek advice from a specialist prior to a referral being made. The use of technology, such as digital images, reduces unnecessary face-to-face appointments and provides flexibility for patients when booking outpatient appointments.</p><p> </p><p>A Teledermatology Roadmap for 2020-21 v1.0 provides recommendations on optimising teledermatology triage and specialist advice, including establishing a working group of multidisciplinary clinical leads and other stakeholders. The two-week wait skin cancer pathway: innovative approaches to support early diagnosis of skin cancer as part of the NHS COVID-19 recovery plan also includes a new virtual pathway using teledermatology. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 19/07/2022 answer text <p><del class="ministerial">The Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework 2019-24 sets out how community pharmacy will support the NHS Long Term Plan, integrate with the National Health Service and provide more clinical services, such as advice and treatment for minor illnesses. A range of services have been introduced, including the Community Pharmacist Consultation Service which allows general practices and NHS 111 to refer patients to community pharmacies for minor illnesses.</del></p><p><del class="ministerial">The majority of community pharmacies also offer blood pressure checks and further support for patients who have been prescribed specific new medicines. Negotiations on additional support which could be provided by sector are ongoing. NHS England is piloting services which could be introduced, including the direct referral of people with potential symptoms of cancer, minor illness referrals from urgent and emergency care settings and the supply of contraception.</del></p><p><del class="ministerial">New standards for initial education and training will ensure that all new pharmacists entering the profession will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to undertake greater clinical roles and provision of healthcare services, including enhanced learning to become independent prescribers upon registration.</del></p><p><ins class="ministerial"> <p><ins class="ministerial">We are aware that cancer screening coverage is lower in lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities. Such inequalities are due partially to individuals being unsure which National Health Service screening programmes they are eligible for or how to access screening if they are not automatically invited. We have therefore worked with Cancer Research UK and Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust to amend the language used in cervical screening to include ‘women and anyone with a cervix’. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/03/2022 answer text <p><del class="ministerial">On 21 February 2022, the Government accepted advice from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) on offering a further dose to some individuals. The primary aim is to reduce the risk of severe disease across the population. As protection against severe COVID-19 disease declines slowly, the most vulnerable groups have been prioritised for vaccination.</del></p><p><del class="ministerial">A dose will be offered to those over the age of 75 years old, residents in care homes for older adults and people aged 12 years and over who are immunosuppressed. The JCVI continues to consider the latest available data on the timing and value of further doses.</del></p><p><ins class="ministerial"> <p><ins class="ministerial">The online only guidance COVID-19 test approval: how to apply advises testing manufacturers on the validation process for new devices. The guidance sets out the process from submitting an application; the desktop review; how payment can be made; the outcome reporting on tests which have passed; how to make a complaint; and where an application is unsuccessful, how the manufacturer can request a review of the decision.</ins><ins class="ministerial"></ins></p></ins><ins class="ministerial"><p><ins class="ministerial">For updates to products while an application is being considered, applicants must inform the COVID-19 Test Device Validation Approval processes (CTDA) administration team and provide the updated Instructions for Use. For updates to approved products, manufacturers are encouraged to contact the CTDA administration team. Guidance for such updates is currently being developed.</ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial">The CTDA team aim to have the results of the application review within 20 working days of submission, subject to the application being complete.
