The NHS e-Referral Service replaced the previous electronic system, Choose and Book, on 15 June 2015. The NHS England Operations Department, with the support of the Health and Social Care Information Centre will take the lead in promoting this service in the future, supporting local health communities to increase their use of the service and providing training, advice and reports to help them become fully electronic.
