star this property answer text <p>(1) The UK's position on the use of the death penalty is longstanding and clear. We oppose its use in all circumstances and countries. The Government of Bahrain are fully aware of our position</p><p><br>(2) The UK and Bahrain have an open dialogue which enables us to raise our concerns, including on individual cases, through private and senior channels. Where we have concerns we raise them at a senior level with the Government of Bahrain. The UK supports freedom of expression and freedom of speech as both a fundamental right in itself and as an essential element of a full range of human rights. We continue to encourage the Government of Bahrain to protect freedom of expression for all of its citizens, in line with its international obligations</p><p><br>(3) We continue to encourage those with concerns about treatment in detention to raise them with the appropriate Bahraini human rights oversight body. We encourage the oversight bodies in Bahrain to carry out thorough and swift investigations into any such claims</p><p><br>(4) The UK has raised our concerns on the revocation of Bahraini citizenship at a senior level with the Government of Bahrain.​</p>

star this property answer text <p>(1) We assess that there has been modest improvement in the food security situation but that it remains extremely fragile.</p><p>(2) Chronic malnutrition is of particular concern, as is the limited access to basic services such as health and education.</p><p>(3) The UN Commission of Inquiry on the Burundi Report of August 2018 found that serious human rights violations persist. The Commission was particularly concerned by the growing number of violations where the ruling party's youth league, the Imbonerakure, had played a role. We are working with UN, EU and African Union partners to support an inclusive, negotiated solution to the political crisis.</p><p>Since 2015, the Department for International Development has provided significant humanitarian support both inside Burundi and to Burundian refugees in the region, supporting around 300,000 refugees in Rwanda and Tanzania since the crisis began. In 2017, the UK committed up to £12 million to support humanitarian needs in Burundi until 2020.</p>

star this property answer text <p>(a) The FCO owns 7 vehicles for use at the British Embassy in Paris.</p><p>(b) The FCO owns 67 vehicles for use by a number of government departments at the British High Commission in Nairobi. These form a transport pool, used by staff from all departments (including the FCO, DfID and DIT) who have signed up to and paid to use the vehicles. A number of these are technical works vehicles used for the secure transportation of building maintenance equipment and water delivery.</p><p>(c) The FCO owns 23 vehicles for use at the British Embassy in Riyadh.</p> more like this
