Therefore, our December 2018 figures are not yet available.</p><p>As of the 30<sup>th</sup> November 2018, the FCO has 4788 (4721 FTE) UK-based staff. star this property answer text <p>Using Her Majesty's Treasury EU Exit funding and a process of internal reprioritisation, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) has created approximately 550 new roles in the UK and overseas to strengthen our diplomatic network in the UK and across Europe so that it is better able to represent and promote British interests and engage with our European partners in support of a successful EU Exit.</p><p>We do not want or expect a no deal outcome. However, a responsible government should prepare for all potential outcomes. We are continually reviewing our workforce plans and reprioritising and assessing changing needs, including identification and cessation of lower-priority work where appropriate.</p><p>The Civil Service as a whole is working to ensure that EU Exit Implementation is carried out to a high quality without impacting public service delivery across the whole of government.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>​It is the responsibility of policy leads to conduct Equality Impact Assessments (EIA) where appropriate and as such there is no central record of the number of assessments made. To provide you with this would require us to gather information from over 200 posts and departments and the cost of doing this would be disproportionate and exceed the appropriate cost limit. Policy leads are however encouraged to engage with the relevant staff support groups early on in policy formation to ensure that no group are disproportionately or disadvantaged. The FCO's Diversity and Inclusion Team provides expert guidance and support, where needed, to ensure EIAs are conducted effectively.</p> more like this

The Global Coalition against Daesh, of which we are a member, works closely with the SDF in the ongoing fight against Daesh and engages with them on a number of related issues, including the situation of former Daesh fighters and their families, including children. As part of our significant humanitarian programme, the UK is expanding support for non-formal education activities in former Daesh-controlled areas in Northeast Syria, alongside psychosocial support for children affected by trauma. We remain committed to achieving justice for the victims of Daesh in Syria and Iraq.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The British Government supported an EU-led demarche in Spring 2018 calling on Iran to ensure Mr Panahi’s right to due process was guaranteed. Regrettably, our efforts were unsuccessful and Mr Panahi was executed in September. We continue to take action with the international community to press for improvements on all human rights issues in Iran, including ending the death penalty.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Her Majesty's Government discussed Turkish military action in Afrin with the Turkish authorities at the highest levels. We called for de-escalation and the protection of civilians, while recognising Turkey's legitimate interest in the security of its borders. All actors in the Syrian conflict must comply with and fully uphold international conventions and norms. We are clear that any allegations of human rights violations, where there is credible evidence of their occurrence, must be investigated and have previously raised incidents with the Turkish authorities where there were grounds to do so.</p><p>The Government has already discussed the situation in Afrin extensively, including in a statement to this House by the Minister of State for the Middle East on 12 March 2018.</p> more like this
