Working with partners and agencies, we are monitoring developments and doing all we can to end the conflict. The UK has played a leading role in diplomatic efforts and will continue to do so. My Right Honourable Friend the Foreign Secretary visited Yemen in March. He also hosted a ministerial Quad meeting last month to discuss implementation of the Hodeidah agreement and next steps in the political process. I welcome reports over the weekend that the Houthis have begun their withdrawal from Hodeidah. I visited the region last week in support of UN efforts to make political progress and alleviate the humanitarian situation. I met Yemeni, Saudi, Emirati and Oman representatives, including President Hadi and Martin Griffiths. I urged all parties to engage constructively with the Special Envoy in order to reach an enduring political settlement in Yemen. The UK also hosted a Yemen Quad on 22 June, where partners underlined their commitment to a comprehensive political solution. I met the Iraqi Ambassador yesterday and spoke to Iraqi Foreign Minister Al-Hakim this morning. The Foreign Secretary spoke to Prime Minister Abdul Mehdi last month. Over the last 50 years it has minimised the proliferation of nuclear weapons; provided the framework for significant levels of nuclear disarmament – the UK has reduced its warhead numbers by over half since their Cold War peak – and provided the framework to develop secure and safe peaceful uses of nuclear energy globally.</p><p>The UK continues to work with its allies to encourage all possessor states to recognise their responsibilities and remain committed to the gradual multilateral disarmament negotiated within the framework of the NPT, as the security situation allows. For example, the UK is chairing the P5 process, a forum for the UK, US, France, China and Russia to discuss disarmament and non-proliferation issues. It builds trust and confidence, and contributes to improving the current security environment. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 28/01/2020 answer text <p>As we made clear in the UN Security Council, we are deeply concerned by the continued demolition of Palestinian property by the Israeli authorities. Demolitions and evictions of Palestinians from their homes cause unnecessary suffering to ordinary Palestinians; call into question Israel's commitment to a viable two-state solution; and, in all but the most exceptional of cases, are contrary to International Humanitarian Law. Officials from our Embassy in Tel Aviv have repeatedly made clear to the Israeli authorities, most recently on 17 December 2019, our serious concern at the increase in demolitions of Palestinian properties in Area C of the West Bank and in East Jerusalem. The UK and international partners will continue to call for Israel to abandon demolition plans entirely, and instead provide a transparent route to construction for Palestinians in Area C. We support Bedouin communities and Palestinians facing demolition or eviction through our legal aid programme.
