star this property answer text On 25 January 2022, HMRC announced its intention to establish a new regional centre in Portsmouth, either in Lynx House or elsewhere in the city. It is expected to take some time for HMRC to work through its plans in detail to determine requirements and establish options for the most suitable location for its Portsmouth Regional Centre. This includes navigating a robust system of internal and external approvals, including National Property Controls approval. The location will be announced in due course.<p> </p><p> </p>HMRC currently has a presence of around 900 full time equivalent roles in Portsmouth. It will continue to review its detailed requirements, including whether to increase its presence in Portsmouth, while supporting the Government’s Places for Growth ambitions. more like this

The upcoming National Adaptation Programme due next year will respond to the 61 risks and opportunities set out in the Climate Change Risk Assessment earlier this year. The Programme will set out the work local authorities are doing and planning to adapt to climate impacts.<p> </p><p>The 2023-24 Local Government Finance Settlement provides an increase in Core Spending Power for local authorities of around 9%, making available almost £5 billion in additional funding, demonstrating how Government stands behind councils up and down the country. As democratically elected organisations, local authorities are responsible for managing their budgets and making spending decisions that reflect their priorities.</p><p> </p><p>The Government continues to work closely with the sector to understand the pressures local authorities are facing across their services, including those regarding climate change. The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities is responsible for stewardship of the local government system and is committed to ensuring that funding allocations for councils are based on an up-to-date assessment of their needs and resources.</p>

star this property answer text At Spring Budget 2023, the Government announced that it would make changes to the limits on tax-relieved pension savings, abolishing the lifetime allowance, and increasing the annual allowance from £40,000 to £60,000. star this property answer text <p>UK Government policy is that there is no VAT on drugs prescribed by a qualified professional. HM Treasury keeps all taxes under review but there are no plans to extend the zero rate to other products at this time.</p><p> </p><p>EU trade policy applies to the UK until the UK leaves the EU. The “Common Customs Tariff” must be applied by all EU members to the import of goods into the EU. The European Commission negotiates trade agreements and manages the tariff.</p><p> </p><p>In March, the Government announced the Temporary Tariff Regime for the import of goods to the UK in the event of a no deal Brexit. In October, the Government confirmed this policy. The rates contained within the Temporary Tariff Regime would apply for a period of up to 12 months. Under the Temporary Tariff Regime, imports of medicinal drugs will be eligible for tariff-free access. During this temporary period, the Government will undertake a full public consultation to inform the UK’s permanent tariff policy.</p> more like this
