<p>As a matter of principle, HMRC consider redress where they have made a mistake and/or caused an unreasonable delay when dealing with a customer’s tax affairs. In such circumstances, redress could be made to cover costs directly incurred because of their mistake/unreasonable delay, and would also consider the impact of the mistake on the customer.</p>
