star this property answer text <p>The change in the Atomic Weapons Establishment operating model will enhance the Ministry of Defence's (MOD) agility to manage the UK's nuclear deterrent and improve the delivery of core defence objectives, including the replacement warhead.</p><p>The change will also enable the MOD to invest in the development of the workforce, infrastructure and capabilities needed for the replacement warhead programme. I am withholding further information on the replacement warhead timetable for the purposes of safeguarding national security.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Government appreciates the courage shown and sacrifices made by all our brave Service men and women, including those who have served in the Submarine Service as part of Operation Relentless. However, there are no plans to introduce a special service medal. Since 2010, our submariners receive the Deterrent Patrol Pin recognising the professionalism, dedication and commitment displayed by those who have deployed on ballistic missile submarine patrols. Former members of the Service are entitled, and encouraged, to apply for the pin in recognition of their previous service.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>A key objective of the Strategy for Defence Infrastructure, published in Jan 2022, is to ensure the estate is resilient to natural hazards and the impacts of climate change. The Department has an established site level bespoke Climate Impact Risk Assessment Methodology to identify and assess vulnerabilities, and to drive local mitigation and adaptation. To date, over 200 military bases have been assessed including all of Defence’s Critical National Infrastructure sites.</p><p> </p><p>The Department will publish its strategic Estate Climate Resilience Plan (ECRP) in 2024, which will further build on the programme of these assessments.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The UK Government regularly discusses maintaining stability in the Western Balkans with our NATO Allies and European partners. The UK provides support for EUFOR ALTHEA through NATO (the operation is carried out with recourse to NATO assets and capabilities) and coordinated bilateral exercising. The UK will support the renewal of EUFOR's UN Security Council mandate, due by November.</p><p>The UK already has military personnel deployed to NATO's headquarters in Sarajevo.</p><p> </p> more like this
