star this property answer text <p>Hybrid threats present themselves in many domains. Therefore, we utilise a ‘whole of government’ approach to protecting the UK against such activity. The MOD works collaboratively with other government departments, in line with Fusion Doctrine, to support this approach.</p><p> </p><p>It is important that the UK continues to work with and support our international partners in NATO and the EU, contributing to and drawing upon the different tools of these organisations to protect against hybrid threats.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Initial build of the first UK aircraft is complete. Painted in RAF livery, its first flight is scheduled for later this week. Delivery, as the RAF’s first P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft, is expected in October. Manufacture of the second aircraft, for delivery in January 2020, is under way.</p><p> </p><p>The first two aircrew courses have graduated and engineering training is ongoing. Construction of support infrastructure at RAF Lossiemouth is also continuing apace, so significant progress is being made.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The UK Ministry of Defence runs a bi-annual Human Security Advisers Course which educates UK and International personnel in the principles of UN Security Council Resolutions on Women, Peace and Security, Children and Armed Conflict, Human Trafficking and Protection of Civilians. The course also aims to train personnel in how best to implement these principles on operations. Since 2018, students from international militaries have included; Pakistan, Iraq, Malaysia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Somalia, Canada, United States, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.</p><p>In December 2019, the UK will also provide a Human Security export course in Uruguay. This will provide clear guidance on how personnel can recognise, report and appropriately respond and refer children affected by armed conflict.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>As I said to the hon. Member on 8 July, it is difficult to put an exact date on when the Army will reach its full trade trained strength. However, the Army have a series of initiatives in place aimed at improving both recruitment and retention. These are starting to yield benefits but ensuring the Army is at the appropriate size requires sustained effort and investment. However, most importantly the Army continues to meet all of its operational commitments that keep Britain safe.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Defence has developed a prudent standby package of Defence personnel to support the civil authorities on a range of tasks if required. There are no plans to utilise military personnel for public order following Brexit and the Armed Forces have not undertaken urban training exercises in preparation for the UK leaving the EU without a deal. star this property answer text <p>The formation of 6th (UK) Division brings together five existing Army brigades, including 77th Brigade. The Division will enhance the Army's ability to conduct intelligence, counter-intelligence and information operations as well as respond to electronic, cyber and unconventional warfare threats. The brigades involved include reserve units which will play a full part in 6th Division activity. No new funding has been allocated as this is a rebalancing of existing units not the creation of new ones.</p> more like this
