star this property answer text <p>Yes. HMS PRINCE OF WALES is structurally complete and on current plans will commence contractor sea trials in late 2019. Her first entry to Portsmouth will take place during those sea trials and her commissioning into the Royal Navy will follow their completion. star this property answer text <p>While the E-7 Wedgetail is a mature, proven technology, it is produced to order and there is not a constant production line for the aircraft. However, the production line for the base Boeing 737 NG aircraft is still fully operational and has confirmed orders that will see it continuing for several years to come. Work is currently underway to establish a line to undertake the conversion work of the base 737 NG into the E-7 Wedgetail at Marshall Defence and Aerospace in Cambridge in preparation for our first aircraft to enter the modification process in 2021.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>We welcome the announcement of the agreement between the Pentagon and Lockheed Martin for the delivery of a further 478 F-35 Lightning aircraft across the international programme. Once formally finalised and on contract, it should deliver the lowest aircraft prices on the F-35 programme to date.</p><p>The Ministry of Defence's current approval is for the delivery of the Tranche 1 fleet of 48 F-35B aircraft, which are all expected to be delivered by 2025.</p><p>Decisions on subsequent tranches and aircraft variant will be taken at the relevant time to ensure the most appropriate capability for our Armed Forces and best value for money.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>We routinely assess all military capability across Defence to ensure we have the appropriate equipment and capabilities to continue to counter the changing threats we face and to protect UK interests at home and around the globe.</p><p>The Queen Elizabeth Class aircraft carriers, which will operate with embedded F35B Lightning Strike aircraft and as part of an integrated Task Group, are the largest, most capable and powerful surface warships ever constructed in the UK. We look forward to achieving an initial operating capability in December 2020.
