star this property answer text <p>Advertising in the UK is regulated by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), the industry’s independent regulator, which enforces the Advertising Codes through a system of self-regulation and co-regulation with Ofcom. The Codes apply to all media, including broadcast and online. They incorporate all relevant legislation and set standards for accuracy and honesty to which advertisers must adhere, including specific conditions on advertising to children, causing offence and social responsibility.</p><p> </p><p>The ASA is recognised by the government, the courts and trading standards as the ‘established means’ for the enforcement of misleading advertising, and the Codes include rules designed to ensure that advertisers do not mislead consumers. It has a range of sanctions it can take against non-compliant advertisers and, as a last resort, can refer some to Trading Standards.</p><p><strong> </strong></p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>As announced in last year’s loneliness strategy, ‘A connected society - A strategy for tackling loneliness’, and in addition to DCMS’s annual Community Life Survey, the ONS has undertaken further research on childhood loneliness.</p><p> </p><p>The Community Life Survey results for 2017-18, first published in July 2018, showed that 16-34 year olds were more likely to report feeling often or always lonely than those aged over 50. This survey showed that 8% of 16 to 24 year olds feel often or always lonely. In 2018, the Children’s Society found that 11% of 10-15 year olds feel ‘often’ lonely. The ONS published another report on childhood loneliness on the 3rd April this year.</p> more like this

In the event that we leave the EU without a deal, the costs that EU mobile operators would be able to charge UK operators for providing roaming services would no longer be regulated. Four mobile operators - O2, EE, Three and Vodafone - have all stated they have no current plans to change their approach to mobile roaming for their customers roaming in the EU.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Local authorities are primarily responsible for allocating public funding to youth organisations in their area.</p><p>Government is committed to strengthening and supporting youth organisations including, but not limited to:</p><ul><li>The Office for Civil Society has allocated over £863m between 2014/15 and 2018/19 to youth programmes - with £195m of that allocated for 2018/19;</li><li>A new £200m Youth Endowment Fund to be delivered over 10 years to support interventions with children and young people at risk of involvement in crime and violence; and</li><li>Supporting the creation of the Youth Futures Foundation - a new, independent organisation created with initial funding of £90m from dormant bank accounts,which will support young people furthest away from the labour market using data from the Race Disparity Audit.</li></ul> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Sport England have invested £9 million in the England and Wales Cricket Board for the period 2017/21. A proportion of this investment will be used to drive the participation of girls’ cricket, for example developing flexible cricket formats to strengthen the pathway from absolute beginner through to performance level, and investing in coaching, officiating and sports science &amp; medicine.</p><p> </p><p>It is important that girls have access to the right sporting opportunities, both in and out of school. This is something government committed to tackle in the Sporting Future strategy, and which will be addressed through the new School Sport and Activity Action Plan.</p> more like this
