	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/10/2020 answer text <p>The Government recognises the impact that Covid-19 is having on the sporting sector and our multi-billion-pound package of business support has enabled many of our sports clubs to survive. But we know that the decision not to reopen stadia to spectators on 1 October will have economic consequences for sports and clubs across the country who relied on those fans for income, including professional rugby union teams.</p><p>I meet regularly with representatives from rugby union, and we will continue to engage directly with both the RFU and with Premiership Rugby as part of this process.</p><p>The safety and security of players and spectators remains of paramount importance. Work continues at pace to find solutions that will allow crowds safely back into stadia as soon as possible. The Government will continue to work closely with the Sports Ground Safety Authority (SGSA) and a whole range of sports to understand the latest thinking that might allow spectators to return. This includes the creation of a new Sports Technology Innovation Working Group of sporting bodies and health experts to analyse new technologies which might support this. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 02/11/2020 answer text <p>Horse Racing behind closed doors continues to operate throughout the UK in line with government guidance and British Horseracing Authority (BHA) protocols.</p><p>The Betting and Gaming Council (BGC) has indicated that 1,565 Licensed Betting Offices (LBOs) are closed as part of the Tier 3 restrictions affecting the Liverpool City Region, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, South Yorkshire and Warrington. The breakdown of Sport England's four year funding awards for the RFL for 2009-13 and 2013-17 is set out below:<br></p><p>2009-13 - 7 awards totalling £28,031,694</p><p>2013-17 - 10 awards totalling £17,893,596</p><p> </p><p>UK Sport - the arms-length body of government responsible for investing in elite sport and major sporting events - awarded up to £500,000 to the RFL as part of the costs of staging the 2013 Rugby League World Cup.</p><p> </p><p>We have committed to investing up to £25 million in the 2021 Rugby League World Cup tournament and associated legacy infrastructure.
