We have taken decisive action on fixed-odds betting terminals to cut the maximum stake to £2. On 5<sup>th</sup> September, the Gambling Commission launched its consultation on proposals to increase player protections online, including stronger age and identity verification. The Government and the Gambling Commission expect industry to comply with both the spirit and the letter of the new regulations on B2 gaming machines to ensure that consumers continue to be protected from harm.</p><p> </p><p>High-stake roulette-style products launched on 1 April by two high-street bookmakers were withdrawn the following day after a warning from the Gambling Commission. The Commission is continuing to investigate the circumstances and the operators could still face regulatory action. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/10/2017 answer text <p>As I made clear at Departmental Oral Questions on 18 September, I am determined that the gambling industry acknowledges its social responsibilities, including properly funding the work undertaken by GambleAware, and other organisations, on research, education and treatment for gambling-related harm.</p><p> </p><p>The industry currently contributes over £8 million per year to GambleAware. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 22/03/2018 answer text <p>The £2m market trial of the Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme is currently operating in four areas across the country: Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, Bristol, with Bath and North East Somerset, Coventry and Warwickshire, and West Yorkshire and York. On 15th March 2018 the Chancellor announced our intention to extend this market trial into a national scheme. The £67m national scheme will operate across all areas of the UK, including the west of Scotland, and will be launched by the end of March 2018. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/12/2018 answer text <p>In the second chapter of the Government's Childhood Obesity Plan, published in June, we committed to consult by the end of 2018 on introducing a 9pm watershed on TV advertising of HFSS products and similar protection for children viewing adverts online - with the aim of limiting children’s exposure to HFSS advertising, and incentivising sugar and calorie reduction.</p><p> </p><p>Alcohol advertising is not in scope for this work because the consultation is focused on products that children consume.</p><p> </p><p>As with HFSS advertising, alcohol advertising in the UK is regulated by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), the industry’s independent regulator, who enforce the Advertising Codes through a system of self-regulation and co-regulation with Ofcom. The Codes apply to all media, including broadcast and online, and set standards for accuracy and honesty to which advertisers are expected to adhere, including specific conditions on advertising to children, causing offence and social responsibility.</p><p> </p><p>The Codes recognise the social imperative of ensuring alcohol advertising is responsible. They are regularly reviewed and updated by the industry to ensure they remain effective, and proposed changes to the Codes are routinely subject to public consultation. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 07/09/2017 answer text <p>Approximately 38,000 premises in Inverclyde (96% of the total) are able to receive superfast broadband services. To the end of March 2017, 5,581 premises in the constituency had gained superfast broadband coverage thanks to connectivity subsidised by the UK Government. The department does not hold constituency-level financial data. The UK Government has contributed £95 million to support broadband rollout to over 630,000 premises in Scotland. In February 2014 the UK Government committed a further £20.99 million to support a second project in Scotland. The Scottish Government has not yet managed to start procurement of this second project, despite similar projects already being up and running in most other parts of the UK.
