star this property answer text <p><del class="ministerial">Asylum Operations regularly engage with civil society groups via stakeholder forums and often consult with civil society groups on asylum processes.</del></p><p><del class="ministerial">Asylum Operations first communicated with civil society groups on the proof of concept for asylum interviews on 22 September 2020. We further engaged on the 6 October 2020 and continue to gather feedback to support the development of the proof of concept. We are in the process of responding in writing to further questions already submitted from civil society groups.</del></p><p><del class="ministerial">The proof of concept will help establish if there is a longer-term viability. Once the proof of concept phase is complete, we will evaluate as part of ongoing engagement with civil society groups to support further development</del></p><p><ins class="ministerial">Of the £27 million of funds which were earmarked for domestic abuse services affected by COVID-19, government departments have as of 28 October 2020 paid out £25,129,341.</ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial">Within the £27 million, of the £15 million earmarked for the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) to distribute to local domestic abuse services through Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs), This is because the exact locations of refuge and safe accommodation services are not revealed for safety reasons, and so may not match the charity’s registered address.</ins></p><p><ins class="ministerial">It is not possible to break any of the three departments’ allocations down to local authority level.</ins></p><p> </p>

The UK has a longstanding policy of not distinguishing between UK nationals and others in extradition proceedings.</ins></p><p> </p>

Should China push ahead and impose national security legislation on Hong Kong then we will provide a generous offer to BN(O)s of a bespoke immigration route providing unrestricted access to work and study with a pathway to apply for citizenship.The Home Office is working closely with the Foreign &amp; Commonwealth Office and domestic departments on the offer to British Nationals (Overseas) and will set out more detail in due course.</ins></p> more like this

star this property answer text <p><del class="ministerial">We welcome the contribution which seasonal workers from outside the UK are making to the UK agricultural sector. Such workers will not have to enter into quarantine on arrival in the UK but we will expect them, and their employers, to take sensible measures to prevent any spread of disease and for the migrants to remain on the farms where they are working.</del></p><p><ins class="ministerial">Arrangements have been made to allow seasonal workers to commence employment while in self-isolation following their arrival in the UK. They and their employers are expected to take adequate measures to prevent any spread of disease and for the migrants concerned to remain on the farm where they are working and away from others on it throughout the period of self-isolation. Arrangements have also been made to extend the visas of those horticultural workers whose visas who have been unable to leave the UK due to the disruption to international travel caused by Covid-19.</ins></p><p> </p>

star this property answer text <p><del class="ministerial">The Home Office works closely with local authorities and third sector partners in order to identify suitable placements for unaccompanied children for transfer to the UK from Europe under our existing obligations.</del></p><p><del class="ministerial">The Government remains fully committed to relocating the specified number of 480 unaccompanied children to the UK under section 67 of the Immigration Act 2016 (the Dubs Amendment) as soon as possible. We will publish a full data set on the transfers once we have fulfilled this commitment.</del></p><p><del class="ministerial">Over 220 children were transferred to the UK under section 67 when the Calais camp was cleared in late 2016. Since then we have been making further progress with Greece and the other participating states, to transfer more eligible children to move closer to achieving this commitment</del></p><p><ins class="ministerial">The Home Office works closely with local authorities and third sector partners in order to identify suitable placements for unaccompanied children for transfer to the UK from Europe under our existing obligations. star this property question text To ask Her Majesty's Government what assessment they have made of the letter from Lord Goldsmith to the Home Secretary on 14 February which stated that the 1984 Sino-British Joint Declaration does not prevent the extension of full right of abode in the UK to those in Hong Kong who own a British National (Overseas) passport; and what response they intend to make to the reported request in that letter that "false statements" about the nature of his advice in relation to the rights of British National (Overseas) passports should be "retracted and not repeated". more like this

The UK takes seriously its support for BN(O)s and the rights that status confers upon them. We continue to believe that the best outcome for BN(O)s is for the high degree of autonomy and rights and freedoms set out in the Joint Declaration and provided for in the Basic Law to be upheld.</del></p><p><ins class="ministerial">We have received Lord Goldsmith’s letter and we are considering our response.
