	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/11/2018 answer text <p>The Government is committed to preventing drug use in our communities and supporting people through treatment and recovery and we expect to make an announcement about the Recovery Champion in due course.</p><p>We have established a Drug Strategy Board which includes representation from Government departments and wider partners who are critical to the successful delivery of the Strategy, including those in education, health, criminal justice, housing and employment. The Board is chaired by the Home Secretary and its purpose is to oversee and drive implementation of the commitments in the 2017 Drug Strategy. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/11/2018 answer text <p>Nationally, the Government is already delivering a range of actions through the 2017 Drug Strategy to prevent drug misuse in our communities, support people to recover from dependence on drugs, and support enforcement partners to tackle the illicit drug trade.</p><p>We have established a Home Secretary-chaired Board which includes representation from Government departments and wider partners that are critical to drive implementation of the commitments in the 2017 Drug Strategy.</p><p>However, we recognise there is still further to go to tackle the problems caused by drugs, which is why the Home Secretary recently announced an independent review of drugs. This is commercially sensitive information owned by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for South Wales, who formally commissioned the research. Equally, the research application itself is commercially sensitive and belongs to the University of Bristol. It is for them to decide whether to publish information within it.</p><p>During the application process, a question on approach to conducting the research in an impartial manner was given the highest weighting in scoring. In his Budget speech, the Chancellor committed to providing funding to support the po-lice with additional pensions costs.</p><p>On 13 December we announced our proposed police funding settlement for 2019/20 which provides up to £970 million of additional investment in the policing system. This includes £153 million of additional pensions funding, £161 million in increased general grants and up to £509 million of additional funding from council tax precept, if Police and Crime Commissioners use the full flexibility provided. This takes place through a wide range of fora and engagements including the Police Reform and Transformation Board and the digital roundtables convened by the Minister of Policing and Fire in January and June 2018 to support transformation in the digital space.</p><p>In May, The Minister for Policing &amp; the Fire Service wrote to police leaders setting out our commitment to work with the police ahead of the Spending Review.
