star this property answer text <p>We continue to strengthen our Counter Terrorism powers. The 2015 Counter Terrorism &amp; Security Act provided the police with new powers and created a general duty on public bodies to prevent people being drawn into terrorism. To apprehend terrorist suspects the police and security agencies need to collect intelligence to support arrests and develop evidence to secure prosecutions.</p><p>Therefore the government is taking forward the Investigatory Powers Bill, which will provide them with powers fit for the digital age.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The UK’s exit from the EU is a cross-government operation. The Department for Exiting the European Union is doing detailed work with departments to prepare for the upcoming negotiations by understanding the risks and opportunities of leaving the EU and coordinating planning.</p><p> </p><p>Staff within the Home Office Europe Directorate and the Border Immigration and Citizenship System Policy and Strategy Group lead on providing advice to Ministers on EU exit and exit related issues. Members of staff across the Department also provide advice and analysis on EU exit issues as required.</p><p> </p><p>Given the interactions between EU exit work and the Department’s other priorities, it would not be possible to give an accurate figure on how many staff in the Home Office have responsibilities relating to exiting the EU.</p> more like this

However, the Government is clear that rights to peaceful protest do not extend to harassment, intimidating behaviour or serious disruption to the community and the law provides protection against such behaviour.
