<p>The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidance on ‘Oesophago-gastric cancer: assessment and management in adults’ (2018) cautions that while nutrition support can improve surgical outcomes, practice in this field varies nationally so its effectiveness has not been determined.</p>
