Over 50 local authorities, including Portsmouth, responded. All of the evidence submitted has been taken into consideration. It will enable EU citizens who arrive in the UK after EU exit to live, work and study in the UK for a temporary period. It will also allow them to be accompanied or joined by their close family members (their spouse, civil partner, partner, and dependent child under 18) who are third country nationals. There will no limit to the number of dependent children who may accompany or join the EU citizen.</p><p>Information about the application fee for European Temporary Leave to Remain will be made available in due course.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Government has committed to putting in place a compensation scheme for members of the Windrush generation who have suffered loss as a result of difficulties in demonstrating their lawful immigration status.</p><p><br>The Home Office is currently considering views on the design and operation of the compensation scheme submitted during a recent public consultation, which closed on 16 November.</p><p><br>The compensation scheme is not yet in place to receive applications. star this property answer text <p>During 2018, over 500 migrants - mostly Iranian - attempted to travel to the UK on small vessels. 80% of them attempted this in the last three months of the year. Around 40% of the attempts last year were either disrupted by French law enforcement or returned to France via French agencies.</p><p>Border Force and operational partners are carrying out intelligence-led activity on a number of fronts to prevent migrants from entering the UK via clandestine and illegal means. We are also working very closely with our colleagues in France to prevent migrants from making these dangerous crossings.</p><p>Through these efforts, we reduced the number of individuals attempting the crossing from around 250 in December to 90 in January.</p> more like this
