star this property answer text <p>The Ministry is committed to ensuring the justice system is supported by a range of quality language services that meet the needs of all those that require them.</p><p> </p><p>All our new language service contracts contain robust performance and charging provisions which are designed to ensure the value for money and affordability of the services provided by the department's suppliers. However, we have not felt it appropriate to set a target figure for cost savings for the provision of court interpreters, which is a demand-led service, given the importance we attach to the provision of such support to those who most need it.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>To ensure a high and consistent level of fulfilment across all geographical areas and in rare languages, thebigword have partnered with a number of subcontractors, namely: Global Language Services Limited, Cintra Translations Limited, Debonair Languages Ltd, Supreme Linguistic Services Ltd, Mango Spice Language Solutions, J-anne Interpreting and Translation Service Limited, Global Translation Services and Language River.</p><p> </p><p>Thebigword must ensure that its subcontracts contain obligations no less onerous on the sub-contractor than those imposed on them by the Ministry, including those relating to quality and performance standards. Thebigword are also responsible for carrying out audits to ensure subcontractor adherence to the contract service specification.</p><p> </p><p>All language professionals provided by thebigword, whether directly or via subcontractor, will be subject to ongoing quality assurance provided by The Language Shop. This includes a programme of 'spot checks' of interpreters undertaking assignments.</p>

star this property answer text <p>A political solution is the best way to bring long-term stability to Yemen and end the conflict. The UK continues to strongly support the work of UN Special Envoy, Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, and his tireless efforts in working with all parties to bring about peace in Yemen.</p><p>Through the &quot;Quad&quot; initiative, the UK has brought together leading Coalition members, the US and UN to make meaningful progress towards a peaceful solution to the conflict. The Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, my Rt Hon. Friend the Member for Uxbridge and South Ruislip (Mr Johnson) hosted the first Quad meeting in London in July and the format has reconvened on an almost monthly basis since. I attended the last meeting in Riyadh on 18 December, during which it was agreed that the UN peace proposals represent an outline for a comprehensive agreement which the Yemeni parties need to negotiate the details of.</p><p>We continue to call on all parties to the conflict to renew their commitment to the Cessation of Hostilities for the sake of the people of Yemen.</p>

star this property answer text <p>Demonstration and Shakedown Operations (DASOs) are undertaken prior to the initial deployment of a ballistic missile submarine and also following long overhaul periods. To date there have been eleven UK DASO firings of the Trident II D5 missiles - all resulted in the submarine successfully being certified to return to the operational cycle.</p><p>Details of the date of the missile firing and the submarine involved are given below;</p><p>26 May 1994 - HMS Vanguard</p><p>19 June 1994 - HMS Vanguard</p><p>24 July 1995 - HMS Victorious</p><p>22 August 1995 - HMS Victorious</p><p>10 October 1997 - HMS Vigilant</p><p>10 October 1997 - HMS Vigilant</p><p>21 September 2000 - HMS Vengeance</p><p>10 October 2005 - HMS Vanguard</p><p>26 May 2009 - HMS Victorious</p><p>23 October 2012 - HMS Vigilant</p><p>20 June 2016 - HMS Vengeance</p><p>We do not hold records of US DASOs, but there have been over 160 successful test flights of Trident II D5 missiles since 1989.</p> more like this

Latest figures show that planting in 2015/16 and so far in 2016/17 has achieved 1,009 hectares or close to 1.4 million trees.</p><p> </p><p>Additionally, to encourage further tree planting, we launched the second round of the Woodland Creation Planning Grant in September and the Woodland Carbon Fund in November.</p><p> </p> more like this
