<p>As I set out in my Statement to the House on the EU Settlement Scheme (OR col X,
re June 2018), applications for the EU Settlement Scheme will cost £65 for adults,
with a reduced fee of £32.50 for children under 16. There will be no fee for looked
after children. The process will be particularly straightforward for those who already
hold a valid permanent residence or indefinite leave to remain document, which they
will be able to exchange for settled status free of charge.</p><p>The application
process is being designed with users in mind, and the Home Office is engaging regularly
with stakeholders. This includes monthly meetings of user groups including those who
represent EU citizens in the UK, employers, EU27 consulates and the European Commission,
and groups representing vulnerable users, to discuss and understand their needs for
the EU Settlement Scheme.</p><p>We have published the fees now in order to give EU
citizens and their family members clarity and sufficient time ahead of the deadline
(for those who are resident by 31 December 2020) of 30 June 2021, to apply for documentation.</p>
