	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 31/01/2018 answer text <p>The number of Pension Wise website visits and appointments has grown significantly from a standing start when the service launched in April 2015, and is still rising.</p><p> </p><p>Pension Wise delivered <strong>61,000</strong> face to face and telephone appointments in 2015/16, <strong>66,000</strong> in 2016/17 and is on track to deliver more than <strong>80,000</strong> in 2017/18.</p><p>There have been around 6.2 million visits to the pension wise website since launch.</p><p>In July 2017 Pension Wise introduced digital appointments, which guide users through their pension options, scams and tax implications online. Digital appointments mirror the content provided in a face to face or telephone appointment. There are now 4.9 million women aged 50 and over in the workforce compared to 4.2 million five years ago.</p><p>We will spend £55 billion [£55.4bn] this year (2019/20) on benefits to support disabled people and people with health conditions. This is around 2.5% of GDP, and over 6% of government spending, and as a share of GDP, the UK’s public spending is second highest in the G7, bar Germany [OECD 2015 data].</p><p>To support women to remain and return to the labour market, the Government has removed the Default Retirement Age meaning most people can choose when to retire, and extended the right to request flexible working to all employees with 26 weeks’ continuous service with their employer.</p><p>We have appointed a Business Champion for Older Workers to engage and influence employers both strategically and in terms of practical advice.</p><p>In February 2017, the UK Government published “Fuller Working Lives: a partnership approach” to set out the role employers, individuals and Government can play in supporting fuller working lives. <a href="https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/587654/fuller-working-lives-a-partnership-approach.pdf" target="_blank">https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/587654/fuller-working-lives-a-partnership-approach.pdf</a></p><p>Through the National Retraining Partnership, a strategic partnership between Government, the Confederation of British Industry and the Trades Union Congress, Government is developing the National Retraining Scheme. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/10/2023 answer text <p>The amount that can be deducted is capped and we have lowered the standard cap on deductions from Universal Credit twice over recent years, firstly from 40% to 30% in October 2019 and then to 25% in April 2021.</p><p>DWP takes every care to recover benefit debt without causing undue financial hardship.</p><p>Deductions are made under legislation and cover a broad range of contingencies, like the recovery of fines to prevent incarceration, the payment of rent arrears to prevent homelessness, child maintenance liabilities to their children, and provision for one-off items of expenditure through advances and the repayment of debts.</p><p>DWP remains committed to working with anyone who is struggling with their deductions and encourages customers to contact DWP to discuss any concerns.</p><p> </p><p>The department has a well-established process for working with individuals to support them to manage repayment of debt. Our agents will always look to negotiate affordable and sustainable repayment plans. For overpayment deductions specifically, where a person feels they cannot afford the proposed rate of deduction for an overpayment recovery, they are encouraged to contact the department’s Debt Management to discuss a temporary reduction in their rate of repayment or cessation of the deduction.</p><p> </p><p>There is no minimum amount that a customer has to pay, and we have recently extended the time period for any reduced payment to remain in place.</p><p> </p><p>Customers who do contact Debt Management are routinely referred to the Money Advisor Network, who work in partnership with DWP, to offer free independent and impartial money and debt advice. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 19/07/2021 answer text <p>As of 14 July 2021 there were 14 child support cases awaiting preliminary screening, which equates to 1.3% of all current child support cases held.</p><p> </p><p>Data on the average time it took to complete preliminary screening and register cases in the last calendar year is not recorded. The Independent Case Examiner (ICE) office aims to complete this preliminary screening and register the case within two working days.</p><p> </p><p>The cases that reach the ICE are the most complex and usually require investigation. Complainants are kept updated about the timings involved with their case and the vast majority are satisfied with the service they receive. Of the cases held on 14 July 2021, there were 824 cases awaiting allocation to an investigator, which equates to 40% of cases held.</p><p> </p><p>The average time taken from complaint acceptance date to allocation to an investigation case manager in all ICE cases is 64.6 weeks.</p><p> </p><p>The ICE office currently has 44 (42.06 FTE) investigators. A further 5 investigators have recently been recruited and are due to be post in August and September.
