	answer	answer is ministerial correction answer text <p> </p><p> </p><p>The Carrington Wire Defined Benefit Pension Scheme entered a Pension Protection Fund (PPF) assessment period in February 2013.</p><p> </p><p>During a PPF assessment period the PPF establishes whether the scheme can afford to secure benefits which are at least equal to the compensation that the PPF would pay. The scheme will transfer to the PPF unless it has sufficient assets to pay benefits greater or equal to PPF compensation levels or it is rescued, for instance, by another employer taking responsibility for it.</p><p> </p> question first answered 19/03/2014 12:00:00

	answer	answer is ministerial correction answer text <p /> <p /> <p>The responsibility for the oversight of work-based pensions in the UK rests with the Pensions Regulator which was set up under the Pensions Act 2004. Parliament gave the Pensions Regulator operational independence, which means that Ministers are not involved in decisions to exercise its powers or able to intervene in its casework. It would therefore not be appropriate for Ministers to comment on any individual pension scheme. Where it appears that scheme abandonment has taken place, it is a matter for the Regulator to establish whether the legal tests in relation to its ‘anti-avoidance' powers, including the power to issue contribution notices, are met.</p> question first answered 10/04/2014 12:00:00

	answer	answer is ministerial correction answer text <p> </p><p> </p><p>The Government are aware of the problems facing young jobseekers in the labour market and have put in place a substantial menu of provision to help them move into work.</p><p>The Youth Contract provides intensive support for all 18-24 year olds. Extra funding is being made available to support the most vulnerable 16 and 17 year olds not in education, employment or training into learning, an apprenticeship or job with training.</p><p> </p><p>This comprehensive package of support is enhanced by the Flexible Support Fund, which Jobcentre Plus District managers can use to address locally identified skills needs. Also, the Work Programme provides tailored support to those claimants furthest from the labour market.</p><p> </p><p>Additionally, on the 14<sup>th</sup> of November, the Deputy Prime Minister announced that funding of £50m Youth Contract under spend would be made available to cities.</p><p>For the Sheffield City Region they received £5m to offer intensive adviser and mentor-led support for young people alongside a specialist training programme aimed at equipping young people with the right skills to match local employer needs.</p> question first answered 12/05/2014 12:00:00

It was never intended to be a carer's wage nor a payment for the services of caring, and is therefore not comparable with the National Minimum Wage.</p><p> </p><p>The Government recognises that carers play an indispensable role in looking after friends or family members who need support.
