unstar this property answer text <p /> <p /> <p> </p><p /> <p>My officials and I have been having ongoing discussions with a <br />number of international partners regarding new psychoactive substances to <br />help inform the review, which I announced to Parliament on 12 December 2013, <br />and which is considering how the UK's domestic response can be strengthened. This has <br />included discussions during the UK presidency of the G8, in the EU on the <br />Commission's latest proposals for controlling new psychoactive substances at <br />EU-level and more recently, at the Commission for Narcotic Drugs 57th Session <br />in Vienna.</p><p /> <p /> <p> </p> more like this

It is considering the legal framework to deal with these new <br />substances, as well as other policy levers, for example in health or education <br />which might be available to the Government. <br /><br />The names of the core expert panel members are given in the attached table. <br />Members were chosen for their expertise and extensive networks which they are <br />using to bring evidence to the review. <br /><br />The panel is considering national and international available evidence, <br />and is engaging with other experts and organisations including charities as the review progresses. <br />The choice of expert witnesses is a matter for the panel.<br /><br />As referred to in the published Terms of Reference, the panel's recommendations <br />will be presented to Home Office Ministers in the Spring.</p><p /> <p /> <p> </p>

unstar this property answer text <p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>It is important that the police have the ability to conduct a thorough search of any suspect (irrespective of age) whilst in police custody, not only to investigate crimes of which they are suspected, but also for their own safety whilst in custody. The use of these powers is an operational matter for the Chief Constable of each police force in England and Wales. However, their use must be in accordance with the safeguards set out in the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 Code of Practice C. <br><br>The Government takes the welfare of children very seriously. It is for this reason that the Home Secretary has asked Her Majesty's Inspector of Constabulary to include the use of the strip search procedure on children as part of the thematic inspection into the treatment of vulnerable people in police custody, which was commissioned in January.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p> more like this

As these are related to small scale specific projects, the <br />results are not reported systematically to the Home Office Board.</p><p> </p><p><br />Her Majesty's Passport Office has conducted 3 waves of passport customer <br />satisfaction surveys in the last 12 months. Customer satisfaction is one of the <br />key performance indicators for the agency, and the results are reported to the <br />agency management board and to the Home Office as part of regular performance <br />reports.</p><p> </p><p><br />UK Visas and Immigration is in the process of developing a wide-ranging and <br />regular customer satisfaction survey. This has been sponsored at UKVI's <br />Customer Board.</p><p> </p> more like this
