	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/07/2019 answer text <p>To help ensure effective implementation of the loneliness strategy, ‘A connected society - A strategy for tackling loneliness’ and to progress wider work on loneliness, Government Officials from the tackling loneliness team regularly engage with the Loneliness Action Group, convened by the British Red Cross and Co-op.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>Officials have presented on implementation of the strategy at the two meetings of the Loneliness Action Group which have taken place since the strategy’s publication, in November 2018 and February 2019. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/07/2019 answer text <p>The government’s loneliness strategy, ‘A connected society - A strategy for tackling loneliness’, recognises that, while increasingly we understand the impact of loneliness, there is less certainty about its drivers and what works to tackle it. As a result, the strategy did not set a quantitative target for change. Rather it sets out the government's commitment to establishing a clearer picture of the prevalence of loneliness, through a new national measure and by developing the evidence base on what works. It commits government to publishing annual progress reports that provide an update on the implementation of the policies set out in the strategy, as well as the development of additional policies. As government reviews its approach, and further learning is generated, government will explore the possibility – and suitability – of setting a quantitative target for change. This is not likely to be possible for some years, as it will take time for sufficient data and learning to be available. Government is exploring various mechanisms for doing this and an update on progress will be provided in the first annual report on tackling loneliness, expected to be published later this year.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>The guidance for the Family Test is currently being refreshed and consideration of loneliness is included in the draft text. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/09/2019 answer text <p>The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is responsible for regulating health and safety risks arising from work activities and has no plans to introduce additional legislation to require employers to provide sun cream to their employees.</p><p> </p><p>HSE provides specific advice aimed at employers and employees on preventing health risks due to exposure to the sun at <a href="http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/indg337.pdf" target="_blank">http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/indg337.pdf</a> and <a href="http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/indg147.pdf" target="_blank">www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/indg147.pdf</a>. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/09/2019 answer text <p>The Government’s policy on ensuring that employers protect their employees’ hearing is well established. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has responsibility for occupational health and safety legislation which includes the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005. The Regulations impose duties which, depending on the level of risk, require employers to:</p><p> </p><ul><li>take action to reduce exposure to noise and ensure the legal limits on noise exposure are not exceeded;</li><li>ensure that equipment is properly maintained and used;</li><li>provide employees with personal hearing protection where it’s appropriate;</li><li>provide information, instruction and training;</li><li>carry out health surveillance.</li></ul><p> </p><p>HSE focuses its activities on industries where there are high numbers of workers who are exposed and/or where there is evidence of a high incidence rate of noise induced hearing loss.
