star this property answer text <p>The Government is committed to supporting a healthy and legitimate remittance sector, and ensuring that UK citizens are able to continue to remit funds safely to family abroad. The Action Group on Cross Border Remittances has been established in accordance with the Written Ministerial Statement laid down in Parliament on 10 October 2013. The Action Group includes representatives for UK banks, the private sector, anti money laundering supervisors, civil society and international partners.</p><p> </p><p>Three Action Group meetings have taken place and a number of streams of work are underway; the Action Group is monitoring changes to the market, developing guidance for money service businesses (MSBs) and banks, promoting a shared understanding of risk and developing a ‘Safer Corridor' pilot for Somalia. star this property answer text <p> </p><p>The UK ended Budget Support to the Ugandan Government following concerns about corruption last year. Our development programme continues to support poverty reduction and growth in Uganda.</p><p> </p><p>DFID is providing £16.3 million over 4 years to support an improved HIV prevention response in Uganda, which will include provision for specifically targeting Most At Risk Populations (MARPS). We also provide support through the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria. The UK is one of the largest funders of the international agriculture research consortium, the CGIAR (Group on International Agricultural Research). The CGIAR , FAO and national partners have established a task force to track the disease spread and to develop an effective response.</p><p> </p><p>In Mozambique, where a new outbreak of TR4 was reported November 2013, all sites where the disease was found have now been isolated, the affected plants destroyed, and appropriate phytosanitary measures have been put in place to prevent the disease from spreading. A consortium of partners, including the Mozambique Department of Agriculture, the CGIAR, Stellenbosch University, FAO and National Agricultural Research and Regulatory Organisations throughout Africa is being mobilised to address the outbreak, monitor plantations and raise awareness.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p> </p><p>The Woodland Carbon Code, developed by the Forestry Commission, was introduced in July 2011 following a pilot phase that began in September 2010. Subsequently, a group scheme has been launched to enable financial costs to be shared by participating schemes, alongside a shared responsibility for ensuring that Woodland Carbon Code requirements are met at all sites. In July 2013 the Code was launched on the Markit Environmental Registry to provide open and transparent project registration as well as Woodland Carbon Unit issuance, tracking and retirement. As of 31 March 2014, 202 projects covering an area of 15,401 hectares had registered with the Woodland Carbon Code, of which 67 projects had been validated.</p><p> </p> more like this

star this property answer text <p> </p><p>The Environment Agency has had strategic overview of coastal erosion risk management in England since 2008. Under this overview the Environment Agency oversees the development, monitoring, delivery and reporting of Shoreline Management Plans and associated coastal strategies for the whole coastline of England and Wales. This sets out how coastal erosion will be managed sustainably in the long term.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Lewes District Council and Brighton and Hove City Council are developing a long-term plan to manage erosion risk along the frontage from Beachy Head to Selsey Bill. This is to be completed this year. It will evaluate the most sustainable options to maintain the coastline over the next 100 years and assess the economic viability of replacing the existing defenses when required. The plan has been funded by £104,000 of flood and coastal erosion risk management Grant-in-Aid.</p><p> </p> more like this

It applies to all programmes, policies and projects. An important recommendation in this guidance is the use of the ecosystem services framework.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Defra is also supporting independent research on developing further our understanding of nature's economic and social value through the National Ecosystem Assessment Follow-On Project (NEAFO), which will report later this year.</p><p> </p>
