This population does not include full-time Reserves Service (Home Commitment), Military Provost Guard Service and non-regular permanent staff, of which there are an additional 4,960 male and 260 female personnel.</p><p> </p><p>Full-time trade-trained strength includes Regulars, Gurkhas, and full-time Reserves Service (Full Commitment and Limited Commitment). The Integrated Review and Defence Command Paper made clear that we must focus on Defence capability rather than troop numbers in response to changing threats and priorities. The British Army will be more integrated and active, with a whole force of over 100,000 regulars and reservists, to address current and future threats.</p><p> </p><p>We are continuing to monitor the situation globally, including in Ukraine, and, in line with planning and delivery mechanisms developed following the Integrated Review, we will continue to review our capabilities and readiness levels accordingly.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>The Ministry of Defence is reviewing whether it is now right to reduce the Regular Army to 73,000, as planned under Future Soldier. That process is ongoing.</p><p> </p><p>Through an adaptive approach, personnel numbers and force design are determined to ensure Defence remains threat-led and the Armed Forces remain ready to deter and defend the nation should they be called upon to do so.</p><p> </p><p>Any specific policy changes or updates required related to defence capability and force design will be determined once the update to the Defence Command Paper has concluded.</p><p> </p> more like this
