	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 06/02/2023 answer text <p>The Armed Forces Act 2021 placed a duty on specific local public bodies in the areas of health, housing, and education to have due regard to the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant. The Government will report on the overall effectiveness of the Duty within five years of it coming into force, in accordance with good practice, to allow time for impacts to emerge.</p><p> </p><p>We will be working with Local Authorities and other bodies in scope of the duty to ensure they are aware of their obligations to ensure the Armed Forces Community do not face disadvantage. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 19/04/2024 answer text <p>As at 1 January 2024 there were 22,676 Army Regular Reservists with recall liability under Section 22 of the Reserve Forces Act (RFA) 96.</p><p> </p><p>In addition, there are approximately 55,000 ex-Regular personnel as of March 2024 subject to recall under Section 68 of the RFA 96.</p><p> </p><p>Notes/caveats:</p><p> </p><ol><li>The number of Army Regular Reservists with a recall liability can only be provided as at 1 January 2024 in line with Published National Statistics.</li><li>The Army Regular Reserve comprises ex-Regular Army personnel who retain a workforce obligation to be called up for service in times of need.</li><li>This figure includes the serving component which comprises ex-Regular personnel who have applied to return to Army service on a fixed term Reserve commitment.</li><li>The second figure comprises of personnel who have completed their military service and retain a liability to be recalled for service in the event of national danger, great emergency or an actual or suspected attack on the UK.</li><li>This figure is a single Service estimate based on management information which is not gathered for statistical purposes or subject to the same level of scrutiny as official statistics produced by Defence Statistics. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/07/2019 answer text <p>Reports about forced separation of children, including Dr Adrian Zenz's report of 4 July 2019, add to the growing body of evidence about the disturbing situation that Uyghurs and other minorities are facing in Xinjiang. We assess that there could be more than a million Uyghurs and other minorities who have been or are currently detained extra-judicially in detention camps in the province. As Mr Field explained in a Westminster Hall debate on 29 January 2019, these detentions have split up families and have had a significant impact on the children of those detained.</p><p>We also frequently raise our concerns about the human rights situation in Xinjiang bilaterally with the Chinese Government and in multilateral fora.
