star this property answer text <p>The changes made to the existing third party campaigning rules by the Transparency of Lobbying Act 2014 do not restrict charities’ freedom to campaign to further their charitable purposes in a non-partisan way, but instead make the political system more accountable. At the 2015 general election, 68 organisations were registered with the Electoral Commission as third party campaigners undertaking campaigning activity which could influence the election outcome, of which 11 were charities.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>Local Government is by far the largest investor into community sport with £1bn invested each year and most grassroots sport is played using facilities (including parks and informal spaces) owned or controlled by the 353 local authorities in England. The government, through Sport England, works in partnership with local authorities to maximise the impact of this investment and safeguard it within the tough economic climate in which we all operate.</p><p> </p><p>Current Local Delivery Pilots are still in development and the government is exploring new ways of working across local authorities, Sport England and other partners in delivering local sporting facilities and infrastructure.</p><p> </p><p>Sport England has no current plans to develop a major, Strategic Facility, investment in Easington, but their funds for future investment can be applied for through their website.</p> more like this

star this property answer text <p>This Government remains committed to encouraging more people to engage in sport and physical activity, regardless of their background or level of ability.</p><p> </p><p>The Government's Sporting Future strategy published in December 2015 set out that, in future, public investment in sport and physical activity will be based on the contribution that organisations can make to five broad outcomes: Physical Wellbeing; Mental Wellbeing; Individual Development; Social and Community Development; and Economic Development. Cycling, including off-road cycling, is included as part of the strategy. Officials at DCMS are engaged with Defra officials as they develop their Environment Strategy.</p><p> </p> more like this
