	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 09/11/2018 answer text <p>The detail of the UK’s association to the EU Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation &amp; restriction of Chemicals programme after the UK leaves the EU is part of ongoing negotiations. The UK and the EU have a mutual interest in maintaining our integrated chemical supply chains as the chemicals industry is an economically significant sector in both regions, and it underpins key downstream sectors including automotive, aerospace, construction and pharmaceuticals. In the White Paper on our future relationship with the European Union published in July, the UK has proposed that chemicals are part of a UK-EU free trade area on goods, with continued UK participation in the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) underpinning this arrangement. The total value of US imports of steel from the UK in 2017 was £360m which amounts to 7% of UK steel exports.</p><p> </p><p>We remain deeply disappointed that the US has decided to apply tariffs to steel and aluminium imports from the EU on national security grounds. We will not tolerate a practice that can cause extreme and lifelong physical and psychological suffering to women and girls.</p><p>In 2014/15, the Home Office provided over £100,000 to community organisations through the FGM Community Engagement Initiative. The fund was open to organisations across the UK to bid for up to £10,000 to carry out community work to raise awareness of FGM.</p><p>The 12 projects included work to build the confidence of women and communities to speak out against FGM and raise awareness of the potential health, social and cultural implications.</p><p>The evaluations show that nearly 6,000 people were engaged in a variety of activities designed to raise awareness about FGM and strengthen the voices of communities. Feedback from participants demonstrated increased awareness of the context, manifestation and harm caused by FGM. We believe it is important to help build asylum and border security capacity and capability in other countries so that they are better able to deal with increased demands on their national systems.</p><p>We have already provided more resource – over 1,000 working days - to support missions coordinated by EASO to other Member States, such as Italy and Greece, than any other Member State. We continue to provide bi-lateral support to the Greek asylum system and on assisted voluntary return of illegal migrants.</p><p>We also support the European Commission’s proposals for Hot Spots that will help ensure that migrants are registered and fingerprinted and that refugees are identified and protected quickly, while those with no need of protection can be returned immediately. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/09/2015 answer text <p>The Syrian Vulnerable Persons' Relocation scheme was launched in January 2014 and is the first resettlement programme in the UK to target support for refugees specifically on the basis of their vulnerability. It is helping those in the greatest need, including people requiring urgent medical treatment, survivors of violence and torture, and women and children at risk.</p><p>Since the first arrivals in March 2014, 216 individuals have been resettled in the United Kingdom. Statistics on arrivals under the scheme are published through our official statistics at quarterly intervals and include numbers to the year ending June 2015. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/09/2015 answer text <p>In the last three years the UK has provided over 1,000 working days to support missions coordinated by the European Asylum Support Office (EASO) to other Member States under pressure. This is more than any other EU Member State. In addition, we continue to fund via the UNHCR asylum expertise to the Greek asylum system and support a programme of assisted voluntary return of illegal migrants.</p><p>We also support the European Commission’s proposals for 'Hot Spot' screening centres. These centres will help ensure that migrants are registered and fingerprinted at pressure points on the EU external border and that refugees are identified and protected quickly, while those with no need of protection can be returned immediately. We are discussing with EASO and Frontex how best we can contribute.</p><p>We have created a multi-agency 90-strong team from the National Crime Agency (NCA), Border Force, Immigration Enforcement and the CPS to fight the criminal gangs that are exploiting vulnerable people and are working closely with Europol to strengthen its operation to tackle organised crime groups involved in smuggling people across sea and land routes. We are focusing on tracking vessels in the Mediterranean and bringing together intelligence from EU and Europol partners to target these criminals.</p><p>We continue to support Frontex operations in the Mediterranean by providing debriefing and nationality screening experts to Operations Triton and Poseidon. The UK has an outstanding offer of additional debriefing and nationality screening experts which was made to Frontex during August. We are currently awaiting directions from Frontex as to where this resource may best be utilised.</p><p>The UK is excluded from the Frontex Regulation on Schengen-building grounds.
